Paige had managed to talk Lisa into going home, and after just dropping her off her car came to a sudden stop.

"What the fuck?"

She quickly popped the hood and then got out of her car and lifted the hood up. As soon as she did that, she was blasted by a thick cloud of smoke. She closed the hood as she coughed from breathing some of it in.

"You have to be kidding me." She groaned as she kicked her car.

She grabbed her phone from her pocket and sent a quick text to her Aunt before calling the twenty four hour auto repair shop.

She gave the address and was told they'd be there in about ten minutes.

She sat in her car and waited. Her mind thought back to Lisa, she hoped she was okay.

She couldn't stop thinking about her eyes, her beautiful brown eyes. When she looked at Lauren they lit up. When she looked at anyone else they held hurt and sadness.

Paige could tell that she didn't open up to anyone. The way she was quiet around her. She would try to avoid as much eye contact as possible...But she felt like she was the only one Lisa would talk to and she was happy about that. She wanted to help her, she needed help.

"Paige Ward. I haven't seen you in these parts in a long time."

She poked her head outside her her and smiled when she saw the person who spoke.

"James."

She got out of the car and hugged her old friend.

"It's so good to see you." He said hugging her tighter.

She pulled away and noticed the logo on his jacket. It was the logo of the car shop.

"What do you think is wrong with my car?" She asked lifting the hood up and taking a step back.

"Oh damn." He said waving his hand around trying to clear the smoke. "That looks like your engine has blown."

He walked closer to and grabbed his pocket torch and looked inside before nodding his head. "You're going to need a new engine. We don't have the ones you need right now but I see other problems as well. Nothing major but we can get them sorted before they become a major problem. Could also get you some new tires fitted, ones with better grip."

"And how much is this gonna cost me?"

"Friend rate? I'd say about a thousand."

Paige's jaw dropped and she shook her head. "I can't afford that now, just take my car, get a new engine and if I have any other problems I'll sort it when they happen."

"That'll also cost you a lot more in the long run. I wouldn't usually do this for anyone but...I'll give you three months to pay. Starting once we've fully finished repairing it. You get extra time like that."

Paige gave it a moments thought before nodding her head. "How long will it take?"

"Two weeks maybe. The engine you need comes in on Friday."

"So I'll be without a car for two weeks give or take."

James nodded his head before walking to his truck and attatching the hook to Paige's car.

"Fill out a form and you'll get a temporary car replacement payed for by us."

"I'll just borrow my Aunt's car, I'm too tired for this."

"You want me to take you home? I know your home is like a ten minute walk but if you're tired.."

"No it's fine." She said glancing towards Lisa's apartment. "I have to see someone anyway. I'll stay there."

"Alright. You have everything from your car?"

She nodded her head before giving James a quick hug before making her way to Lisa's apartment and pressing the buzzer.

As she waited, she watched James as he shut the car door after grabbing the key cars then making his way back into his truck and driving off.

"Hm...Hello?"

Paige smiled at Lisa's tired voice. "Hey Lisa...My car just got taken into the shop, I know it's a lot to ask bu-"

Before she could finish the door buzzed open and she quickly entered before walking to Lisa's apartment. She raised her eyebrow at the door which was opened. As she entered Lisa's home she shut the door behind her.

"Take my bed, I'm taking the sofa." Lisa said as she walked in from her bedroom with blankets and pillows.

"No." Paige said quickly and took the blankets and pillows from her. "I'll take the sofa."

Lisa sighed, but shrugged her shoulders. "Alright."

"Thank you."

"It's fine. Night Paige."

"Goodnight Lisa."

Paige set up a bed on the sofa and carefully took her shoes off along with her jeans, laying them carefully on the floor before laying down on the sofa and pulling the blanket over her. She fell asleep almost instantly.

Dreaming of someone she didn't want to dream about.
