Monday night at Josie's was usually quiet, most kids were out on the streets playing or spending quality time with their families. But Lizzy Dwyer was helping out her older sister Debbie in the diner which shone like a beacon on it's street in Derry.

She sat at the boy's regular booth alone and slurped on a vanilla milkshake, while listening to the radio. It was currently playing 'Toy Soldiers' by Martika, which she idly sang along to while spying on the other few customers.
Lizzy's current favourite to listen in on was the teenage couple sitting behind her, the boyfriend was trying to get the girl to come back to his house but she was refusing. They sounded like something out of 'Grease'.

Debbie and Monica would check by her table to top up her shake and give her as much food as she wanted but alas, it seemed to most boring day yet of a summer filled with adventure. They had a TV set up overhead but it was currently only on the boring news so Liz opted out on listening to it.

The bell on top of the diner door rang to signify a new customer and in strolled Henry Bowers and his gang. Lizzy's hands started to tremble and her knees went weak, causing her to quickly run and hide in the employees only section where she'd left her green bomber jacket and red hat earlier on in the day. When she ran into it, she saw Debbie was packing up to leave and let out a sigh of relief and relaxed, causing Debbie to raise an eyebrow.

"What's got you in a twist?" She asked as she placed her yellow jersey cardigan on. Debs looked like she could be Andi from the Goonies' daughter, she basically wore similar outfits to her and had thick bangs to match. Only difference is, Debbie usually tied her hair into a high ponytail to keep it away from her face - it was kind of her trademark.

"The Bowers Gang is out there. There's no fuckin' way I'm passing by them." Debbie had a scowl on her face from Liz's use of bad language but elected to let it go because she knew how much she hated Henry and his goons. However, noticeably missing from the pack was Patrick Hockstetter whom had been mysteriously reported as missing days before. She felt no remorse, he was a sick motherfucker that deserved whatever shit came to him. Some of the rumours she'd heard made her skin crawl and the worst part is - they were most definitely all true.
The one about his fridge bothered her the most.

Debbie politely moved her aside and peeked out the door. "They're gone. Must be in the bathroom. I'll wait for you in the car, get your stuff on." She left the room, dangling the car keys in front of Lizzy like she was trying to entice a cat with a piece of string.
With another sigh, she grabbed her jacket and shoved her hat in the pocket - it was far too hot tonight to wear it. Her jacket usually got dumped at home but today she felt like shoving it on. Y'know, for the sake of fashion. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and pushed open the door with the elbow, preparing for the worst.

Leaving the diner she kept a low profile only to be called on at the last second. "Hey Dwyer!" Belch Huggins called out. Liz tried to walk faster but her arm was yanked by none other than Henry Bowers himself.
