The Dywer household was quiet as ever as Lizzy sat alone, dangling her legs through the bannister of the staircase with a cigarette in her hand.

It was the fourth of July and honestly, she felt everything other than patriotism. This whole revelation that her friends had all seen the same thing had really opened her eyes up to the dark town of Derry. Her nose was still healing from the fight with Bowers, but from the outside it looked perfectly okay.
Liz had no clue what was gonna happen today, Bill had been talking about meeting at the park to go to the fourth of July celebration thing.

Over the past couple of days since the rock fight, Lizzy and Mike had become great friends. They both shared a mutual deep rooted hatred for Henry Bowers and had similar personalities. Ben building the clubhouse only made the group bond closer, they finally had a place to themselves to go and seek refuge from the danger outside.

The doorbell rang as she sprung up and went to answer it. Her stomach rumbled as she opened it.

It was Bill. "Hey Liz, y-you still coming to the fourth of July th-thing? E-everyone else is. Not until t-twelve o'clock though" She smiled at his comfortingly familiar voice. It was currently ten in the morning. "Yeah. Can we stop at Josie's first? I'm starving." They walked beside each other as she locked her door and got her bike from the shed. Next, they met Eddie outside his house, desperate to get away from his mother. They stopped at Stan's next.

He was currently at the Synagogue, practising for his Bar Mitzvah. They waited outside for him, they knew he'd only be a few more minutes. He joined them as the quartet cycled to Josie's and took a seat. Luckily, Debbie was their server and got their usual food.

Lizzy practically moaned as she took a bite of the french fry. They were perfect, they had the right amount of salt and crisp. Bill and Eddie excused themselves as he quickly went to to toilet. Lizzy inspected Stan's face intently.

"Y'know Stanley, you're pretty cute when you're not being all uptight and shit." She admitted, taking a bite of the fry.

"Thanks Liz." He sarcastically said back, it was all just friendly banter.

Soon all four of them had finished their entire meal and were ready to go. It was already 11:30 so it gave them enough time to get to the previously agreed meeting point.

They were there first ones there, followed by Richie, Mike, Ben and Beverly.

"God, I could really go an ice cream," Lizzy admitted. She'd just ate but even the sight of one made her hungry again. "Well then, lemme treat you." Richie pulled out some money from his pocket. He'd earned it by mowing his neighbour's lawn, and to see the smile that appeared on Lizzy's face - it was more than worth it.
