DAWNCLAN [MOON TWO]

"No!"

A screech of horror ricocheted in the darkness. Lilypaw's body laid on the open meadow grass. It tickled her feathery checks as it waved wildly in the harsh winds.

Her neck was no longer in place, but was bent awkwardly. Her eyes were open. The last few moments of terror were frozen in her glazed eyes. Her throat was ripped savagely from her body. Valleypaw had wondered why her close friend hadn't been at the gathering. Now, she wished she didn't know.

Valleypaw screamed into the darkness. She turned and ran towards her foster mother, Daylily, and huddled close to her. Her sniffles were drowned out by the storm.

Lucifer spat when he saw the mangled apprentice. The murder brought too much suspicion into the clan, too much fear. He could see it forming in their eyes already, who would have done such a thing? Now his plans were in jeopardy.

The black tomcat walked forward. Slight traces of DawnClan could be smelled, but the rain and the flowers placed on her body drowned out whose specific scent it was. Valleypaw was staring at him expectantly. He merely shook his head.

"It was a DawnClan cat, but...it's hard to decipher whom." Lucifer touched his nose to her cold, stiff body. She'd been dead for a few hours at least.
