I leap off of the stable's roof and land on the balls of my feet. I roll to absorb impact and end up on my feet. I turn around and see that Maverick didn't have as graceful of a landing as I did. He landed in the fresh hay set out for the horses. I stride over to him and pull him out of the hay.
He looks at me with wide eyes, " What the hell? Who were those people and why were they chasing us?"
I pull Maverick after me into the stables. " Those were some of my classmates. Why they were chasing us? I have no idea." I grab my saddle and quickly slide it onto my horse's back. I figure we only have about 2 minutes before my classmates catch up to us.
Maverick scoffs, " Your classmates? You shot them. Multiple times!"
I shrug nonchalantly. " Not the first time that's happened. " I grab another saddle and slide it onto a dark brown horse's back. I grab the reins and hand them to Maverick. " This is your horse, his name is Philip."
I grab my horse's reins and lead him out of the stables. I mount my horse and Maverick does the same. I can hear the shouting of my classmates getting closer.
" Time to go," I sigh.
