"You gonna tell me what happened?" Reggie asks me the next day. After Leo didn't pick up and I called Reggie, and I had a complete freak out, I ended spending the night at his. He argued that I wasn't in any place to drive and that he would sleep on the couch."Josie happened, and I left the Pussycats."
"What?" He freezes from his place beside me. I nod sadly and pull the jacket around my shoulders tighter. After my 'breakdown' last night the next morning I refused to look sad an pathetic. So I showed up to school with my makeup completely done, my hair perfect, and dressed to kill.
"It was this big arguement with Valerie and Josie, and I got dragged into it too, after Val quite, and I stood up for myself." I speak as we lean against his locker. "And everything went down hill from there."
"Well it's their loss." He shrugs indifferently. I begin answer when suddenly I see the hall turn their attention back to three people strutting confidently down the halls. It's only when they get closer does my heart stop.
"Oh shit." Reggie whispers from beside me. Josie, Melody, and Veronica, adorned with my cat ears, striding past us. Melody looks at me a little sadly as Veronica smiles largely at everyone, and Josie smirks evilly at Val and then me. I hold her stare and then she winks at me.
"Ow, shit Gem!" Reggie hisses after they pass us. I then notcied the tight grip I had on him and let him go.
"Can you believe that?" I turn to him. "She just replaces me the next day like that, what kind of shit is that?"
"I doubt she's half as good as-"
"It doesn't matter, apparently I'm officially out." I whisper to him. I look back where they left and then walk off.
"Gemini, wait!" He calls after me. He rushes to put his things in his locker to follow me. I exchange glances with Valerie as I rush past her. She smiles sadly from her spot beside Archie. He hands her some lyrics and music notes on a paper. I shake my head at her and move away.
It seemed like everyone had backup plans, except me. Reggie grabs my arm lightly and steers me away from the hall and out towards the football field.
"Come on." He leads me to bleachers. The grass crunches softly beneath my feet as I follow him to the center of the field.
"I always come out here when I'm upset." He explains as he catches my confused look. He sets down his bag, taking a seat on the fifty yard line and pats the spot next to me.
"I usually write songs."
"I know how much they mean to you and no matter what, or who, is replaced you were there for the beginning, you'll always be a pussycat, at least to me you will." He smiles at me.
"Thanks, Reggie." I voice my appreciation. "I feel like I need to talk to her, or something."
"I mean, that's your decision, but it's probably best to wait until you aren't angry anymore."
"Reggie Mantle." I speak. "Being the calm and cool-headed person?" He laughs along with me as we both lean back on the grass.
"Funny."
"Thank you Reggie, honestly."
"I told you, anything for you Gemini." He whispers back to me. I look over to him catching him already watching my carefully. It was something about this idiot that just attracted me to him. He'd do something stupid and then I'd get mad and there is always something that made me forgive him completely and look past it.
He smiled at me holding my gaze to him. He smile dropped a little being replaced by something completely different. His eyes for a fleeting second dropped to my lips. I sucked in a harsh breath and I pulled away.
