"You go kill 'em Pussycat."

"Oh, come on." I mutter to myself searching for my shoes. I grab them beginning to put them on when I hear a car pull up in the drive way.

"Gem!" Leo yells from the bottom of the stairs. I groan at his tone of voice.

"Yes?" I call back to him.

"Why is there a boy at the front door?"

I turn on my heels checking myself in the mirror and fixing my cat ears. I move half my hair into two puffs with the rest hanging regularly. I rush from the room and down the steps. I come to a stop at the base of the stairs and slow my pace as I get to the front door.

Immediately I am met with the sight of my brother sizing up Reggie, who stands in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. Leo walks around him examining him.

"So this is what you put on to pick up my sister?" He questions lowly. Reggie glances at me pleadingly.

"Leo, we're going to a pep rally and he has to change into his uniform." I inform, trying to ease his angry gaze. Leo stands for a second watching Reggie, who give him a small smile. He forgets Reggie instead moving to me. He reaches and lightly grab my arm pulling me into the kitchen.

"I thought I said 'no boys'?" he whispers harshly. I pull my arm from him before answering.

"You did, and Reggie and I aren't like that." I retort.

"Aren't like that? He's been giving you heart eyes since you walked in here!" He exclaims, not caring if Reggie can hear him or not. I roll my eyes and grab my purse from the counter.

"I'll be back before one," I state as he follows behind me back to where Reggie is awkwardly standing.

"One? No I want you home right after the game." Leo snaps.

"Okay, I'll be home before one." I laugh, grabbing Reggie's arm and snatch him from his spot, making him stumble behind me.

"So, yes or no, does your brother want to kill me?" He asks as he catches his footing down the stairs.

"Maybe."

He groans rubbing his face as we both slide into the vehicle. I buckle my seat belt and relax in the seat as he reverse out of the driveway.

"You ready for this pep rally?" I ask. He nods silently before answering me.

"As I'll ever be."

I let the silence float so I can prepare for the performance as he drives the rest of the way. I song quietly to myself as we cover more of the distance to Riverdale High. My eyes flutter shut as I rest my head on the back of the seat.
