"And then the idiots started fighting!" I yell out to my brother Leo as I pace across the kitchen. When I walked in the house surprisingly Leo was already home from his shift. He had followed me into the kitchen asking about my day making me explode into the story of how the end of my day was ruined.

"Well you can't fault them, not everyone can be perfect," he says. "Unlike me when I was your age."

"Oh please, admit it Leo, you were a jackass when you were my age." I grab an apple taking a bite out of it in the process of leaning on the counter. "Probably worse than Reggie and Moose."

"Hey, I was not a jackass, I was a golden boy, star running back of the Bulldogs." He laughs immigrating the Heisman trophy stance before running straight at me grabbing me around my waist and throwing me over his shoulder.

"Put me down!" I slam my fist into his back nervously.

   "No, I'm a jackass remember?"

He then rushed into the living room and slams me into the couch. He laughs at my frazzled and angry expression.

"What's wrong Gem? You look a little-" He gestures around his head indicating my hair was a mess.

"Real funny Leo." I huff, sitting up on the couch giving him room to sit.

"So, I got off for your pep rally, I'm coming to see you perform."

"Really? That's great Leo!" I shout I throw myself at him wrapping my arms around him. Regardless of how long the Pussycats had been together, Leo was never able to come see me perform. He always had a shift that he couldn't get off of. It didn't matter now, now I would be a nervous mess, I didn't wanna mess up.

"Oh my god, you're actually coming to see me perform." I whisper in shock.

"Yep, and you'll be great, worth the wait Gem." He laughs before he's able to see the panic plastered across my face. "Hey don't worry kiddo, you'll be amazing."

"Y-Yea, of course." I laugh. I stand moving to go to my room. "Oh and Leo?"

  "Mhm?"

"Your ass stinks." I giggle rushing up the stairs before he can reach me. I move down the hall quickly slamming the door behind me.

"I'm gonna get your short ass!"

I felt at peace, the blankets wrapped around me kept me warm, my pillows resembled clouds. I could say this was the best sleep I had before Leo barged into my room, ripping the covers off of me and throwing the curtains open, letting in the bright sunlight.
