About thirty minutes into our class, my teacher received a call from the office.
"Mhm, oh wow, ok." He looked like he had seen a ghost. He eventually hung up the phone after mumbling, unable to reply to anything the person on the other end was saying.
After he hung up, he went and shut the blinds, turned off the lights, and locked the door.
"Everyone. Please stay calm, but I was just notified that there is an active shooter on campus." Oh shit. "Please get under your desks and stay quiet until further notice."
A people panicked, a few people started crying, but I slowly got under my desk, shaking, and felt like I couldn't move.
I felt Ethan watching me, but I didn't have the will power to look at him. I was so afraid.
You hear about the stories on the news of shootings, but do you ever think you will be apart of one? No. Yet, here I am.
Boom.
A few people made noises when we heard a gun shot coming from across the school. I couldn't tell how far away it was, but that was the moment I tucked my head into my knees and closed my eyes. I prepared for the worst to come.
