It's been about a week now since I've woken up. My doctor said I could be released today, all of my physical issues have been resolved... but the mental ones... I don't think they will ever go away. The doctor prescribed medication for my depression and anxiety.

"Miss, we are ready when you are." Said a sweet older woman who entered my room with a wheel chair.

"I am ready." Ethan slowly helped lift me up, since I haven't really had the motivation to get up on my own.

He then rolled me to the parking lot and helped me into his car.

Ethan and I have made up... sort of. He apologized, and I forgave him and proved my forgiveness by kissing him when I thought I was about to be murdered. Although, ever since I woke up, I haven't talked to him much. He has stayed, only leaving me for school and to pick up my medicine from the pharmacy.

It has just been hard. I've lived a life of constant fear and sadness, and now what? I almost died. I always thought that if I died young it would be self inflicted. When I was in a coma, I second guessed myself multiple times when I wanted to come back to here... but I did it anyway. Was it a mistake?

"Brandy, how are you feeling?" Ethan asked quietly, to try to break my silence as we drove home.

"Fine."

"Brandy... fine is about the only word you have said to me for the past week."

"Does my dad know I'm awake?" I struggled to ask this. I needed to know, even if it hurt me. Tears began to fight their way out of my eyes.

"I tried calling-" I interrupted him.

"Great, just great." I said sarcastically and crossed my arms. "You loose your wife, and then what? Your daughter is useless to you? Was I just loved by him because of my mother? Well she is gone so he clearly doesn't feel the need to pretend anymore"

Ethan pulled the car over, got out of his seat, and came to my door. He opened it and sat on the curb by me.

"Hey, it's alright. I know it will get better. Do you want me to take you somewhere else instead of your house?"

"Just take me home." I shut down again.

Ethan sighed and went back to the drivers seat. The rest of the drive was silent, until we got to my house.

My dad was gone, no surprise. Ethan helped me to my room, and got me situated. I didn't do any talking, and neither did he. Once he got me settled, he got ready to leave.

"Brandy?" I didn't respond, but I looked at him to let him know I was listening. "Don't do anything you will regret, ok?"

I nodded.

"Do you promise me?"

I nodded once again.
