It felt like years had gone by since I got trapped in my own mind. I wanted to wake up, and today was the day I was going to do so. It may seem odd, but this situation gave me a lot of time to think and process everything that has happened to me.

I tried to wake up for what seems like forever, and finally felt the bright light hit my eyes. It felt like I was staring into the sun, and immediately gave me a headache.

I looked around the room to see no one, except for Ethan who was sleeping on the small (and quite uncomfortable looking) chair that was shoved into the corner of my hospital room.

"Ethan?" I tried to wake him up. He was startled by my voice, which I understand since I was unconscious for... who knows how long.

"You are alive, oh my- you are fucking alive."

"How long?"

"What do you mean?"

"How long was I asleep?" His excitement went away for a short second before answering my question.

"Two... very long... months."

"And where is my dad?"

"He is at work."

"So he never visited did he?" I could read his lies.

"No, I'm so sorry. He came once to sign forms, but that's the only time I ever saw him."

Tears formed in my eyes as I laid back in my hospital bed. I kept going back and forth in my mind why I ever thought it would be a good idea to wake back up.

"Hey, hey, it's alright. You have me now." He crawled into my small hospital bed with me and held my weak and fragile body against his.

"How do I know you won't leave me again?" I asked quietly.

"Because I couldn't leave someone I love behind."
