A Year in the Life

Casey's Point of View

For the next year, Casey worked herself to the bone to make their holding cage perfect. For the most part of her mornings she would work at the office, sketching plans and ideas for their room to present to the personalities later. Occasionally, Patricia joined her and they would spend hours talking about the hotel and other stuff. Casey felt like Patricia had finally accepted her into the family and that made her happy.

She would spend her afternoons split between office work, helping Dennis on the third floor, and being Hedwig's teacher. Casey took charge of his education by teaching him math, reading, and science. She would also teach him how to tell if a person was good or not. He wasn't the best at any of the subjects, but they quite enjoyed their sessions.

At night, Casey would help with anything the Beast needed her to help with. They would spend hours hatching a plan to kidnap their newest impures and where to find them. Casey would help make sure that other pure guys and girls like her wouldn't be kidnapped. She wasn't sure if they would be able to get another pure to go along with their plan.

Casey would stay with him until about 2 in the morning before calling it a night. She would shower and go to sleep and would often find Hedwig in bed with her the next morning. Then she would start the day again, grateful for the routine. The hotel business was going smoothly, not too popular that people would notice anything, but not too slow that they didn't make money. Their clients were usually runaways, drug addicts, and prostitutes. None of who Casey had to worry about reporting them to the authorities. Casey kept her blonde hair and their news broadcasted less and less until it gone completely.

Kevin was never confirmed dead. Claire, Marcia, and Casey were still reported missing. Dr. Fletcher was a mission person, but she wasn't connected to them in anyway. The arsonist plaguing Philadelphia was still active, but cooled down. Kevin and Casey were off the radar and it couldn't be better.

Dennis allowed the personalities to grow out their hair and he had a little bit of stubble(that Patricia did not approve of), but Casey found it hot. They slept together twice that year. Once when he fixed Casey's washer(which meant she could stop hand washing clothes) and the other time when they finished the holding cage. Each time Casey ran her fingers through his hair and grabbing it when she needed to. They understood that this wasn't a relationship, but only occurred when they needed it to. None of the other personalities knew about it and that made everything so much easier. They were happy with their relationship just as it was.

Dennis's Point of View

Dennis spent most of that year working on the third floor. He would cover up the doors and windows and soundproof the entire floor. With Casey's help he was able to lay drywall on the entire floor and together they ripped up the carpet floor. Dennis made sure to lay drywall under the rug to prevent any attempt to escape. He kept only two bathrooms open and drywalled over the rest. He removed all tables, chairs, and bed frames, leaving only two mattresses. He removed all lights except for two and made sure to remove any glass.

Dennis decided to grow their hair out after he saw someone watching him in a store. At first, Dennis suspected it was nothing, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He didn't tell Casey because he didn't want her to worry. She always worried too much.
For Kevin's birthday, she gave him a new handkerchief and travel size hand sanitizer. The gifts were small and while most people wouldn't have appreciated the gesture, he did. He cared that she took time to think about what he would like and that she found out Kevin's birthday to surprise them with gifts.
