"Miss Andres, you have a meeting at two-thirty with the Chinese investors and you're done for the day after that." Patricia, Alena's assistant, informed her.

"Patricia, just call me Alena, I know we've only been doing this for a month, but we got this." Alena reminded her as they made their way to the conference room.

It's been two months since Alena left Blake's home and the NBA season was now done. The Clippers were in the playoffs, no surprise there and as much as Alena wanted to ignore the games, she couldn't. She never thought much of basketball, but through Blake, she became a fan. And she was friends with some of the players on the team, it was hard to ignore them. Everyone knew of the falling out between her and Blake, but never asked questions since it was their business. They had some idea, but again, they were minding their own business.

Blake has texted Alena every once in a while, trying to test the waters, but she hasn't replied. Being petty, she literally left him on read and left it at that.

"Sorry Alena, are you sure? It seems unprofessional."

"Listen, I'm the boss, so if it's cool with me, it should be okay, right?" Alena smiled. "If it makes you uncomfortable, you can definitely call me Miss Andres during meetings and such, but when its just you and me, please feel free to call me Alena."

"Okay Alena," Patricia returned her smile. "You also have a lunch meeting with your father."

"Cancel it, I have plans for lunch," Alena replied. She wasn't trying to avoid her father, but he just flew in from Germany. He could rest and she didn't want to deal with him right now. For some reason, her father always spoke to her about Blake Griffin and how it was a shame she was letting him go. She had to refrain herself from cussing him out because at the end of the day, she did respect her elders, but she just had this inkling that she was missing something and if she was honest, she didn't want to find out.

"Your sister called as well,"

The two were in front of the conference room, Alena stopping briefly to gather herself. Sophia had been trying endlessly to speak to her and Alena just wasn't ready. In some ways, she understood Sophia's actions, but at the same time, it was absolutely selfish and despicable. As of right now, her main focus was this transition in the business sector and she would worry about her personal life later. They never thought of her first, Blake or Sophia, they could wait to hear from her if they still cared to do so when she was ready. Alena was done with toxic people in her life and it seemed that the two people that mattered the most to her was proving to be toxic.

She didn't need nor want it.

"Same message?"

"Same message," Patricia confirmed.

"Alright, doesn't matter then." She replied before walking into the conference room, beginning her day full of meetings.

-------------------

Blake was lounging on his couch, not wanting to really interact with the outside world. Practice had just finished and the next game for the playoffs wasn't until tomorrow. He had been sending Alena tickets through Faith and she always 'politely decline,' like, the fuck does that even mean?

To say he was frustrated was playing down what he was feeling. He understood why Alena was upset, why she chose to stay away, but they've had enough time apart. All he wanted to do was tell her how he felt and basically start their relationship from there, but her stubbornness was preventing him from doing that.
