So this Number is actually be something somewhat serious for once. I'll be discussing/ranting about Racism. Keep in mind that I wrote this for something other than this book of randomness so it's written a lot differently than the other things in here that you've read by now. I also don't refer to Klok and myself by our "names" so yeah.

Without anymore talking,

LETS GET ON INTO IT!

By the end of this, I know that if anyone other than my friends read this, I'm going to be called a racist. So, I'm going to say this now.

I am not racist. I am simply a teenage girl who makes fun of stereotypes pertaining to myself and my personal race. I do not intend to offend anyone or cause harm, and if I offend you, I'm sorry.

The question really is though, did it really offend you, or do you think you should be offended?

If that question offended you, then stop reading now. It'll probably only get worse.

I'm a Chinese-American Jew. I've experienced the stereotypical racist and religious jokes, heard the name calling, been bullied. When I was three, I met a girl who I became close friends with. Only to find out that our friendship was just a lie when she began to bully me for two years until I began speaking with my school counselor. Today, she acts like it never happened.

Don't really know where exactly I was going with that last segment, but moving on...

Today, I have a new best friend. She's Asian like me, and together we break through the bonds that many Asians are limited by. We break through the stereotypes, because while they may be based off of truth, they can also be incredibly ridiculous.

Asians have small eyes.

Sure, okay, some Asians' eyes may be smaller than people of other races, but that's because they don't have the double lid. Having smaller eyes is nothing to be ashamed of or nothing to be mocked about. It's heredity and it's genetics. I fail to understand why people make such a big deal about it. It's just eyes. Who cares about what your eyes look like?

Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

Asians can't drive.

Again, this stereotype also relates to the small eyes. Not all Asians are terrible drivers, you see white people getting into car accidents every day. Everyone runs red lights, rear ends someone, gets a ticket or something.

Not all Asians are terrible drivers, and it's just offensive when people speak about the entire population based off a few individuals.

All Asians are Chinese.

Look at a map. Look how big Asia is. Do you see it? Do you now understand that there are other places in Asia that are not China? Good, A+ for you! There's places like Japan and Vietnam and India and Thailand and Korea and so many more. Look with your eyes, your eyes that are apparently bigger than ours. Your eyes that are apparently better than ours because you have another lid.

Maybe you guys are the weird ones. The weird ones for having a double lid. Why are your eyes so big?

Keep in mind that Asians occupy the majority of the planet.

Asians have bad English.

Okay, I can understand where people are coming from on this one. But again, keep in mind that many of these people are learning English as a second language. Asian languages have different phrasings, grammar, and words than English. Don't expect them to be perfect. You try learning Chinese and getting it 100% right.

Counter argument to this claim? White people have bad Chinese.

One-zero, Reva.

*snaps*

All Asians are super geniuses

Well thank you, I'm honored.

This generally pertains mainly to math, from what I've seen. And this is only because of the Asian languages. Many of their counting systems make math much easier, and therefore, some Asians have an easier time with math.

This is not true for every Asian. Just like none of these stereotypes are true for every Asian.

Asians are socially awkward.

I honestly still don't get why this is a stereotype. Most Asians that I know aren't even close to socially awkward, and the ones that were came from a different country and English is their second language.

Back off, stereotypers.

All Asians are doctors, lawyers, etc.,

Okay, this one can be mostly true at times. But theses are all well paying professions, and parents want the best for their kids. Asian students often do well in classes corresponding to these jobs, and I don't see why there's a problem with many Asians working in the same fields.

Plenty of white people work in the same fields. Don't see any Asians complaining about that though, do you?

Enough with this rant, I could go on and on. I'm sure some of you were offended by this, and if you truly were, I'm sorry. Just rambling about the unfairness of certain stereotypes. You'll also notice that I really only mentioned Asians and white people. Again, I'm not racist, I just felt that the easiest and less offensive way to prove points would be by using the term white. If that offended you, I'm sorry, like I've said so many times already.

Seriously though. Stereotypers, sort out your priorities. If you're going to stereotype, at least update your information and make them more true.
