"I don't have a car." Jordan replies.
"All jocks have cars." I answer.
"Not me, I failed my test."
"Of course. I had to get stuck with the dumb jock." I sigh.
"I can walk you home." He says.
"Well I don't really have much choice do I?"
"No. So plaster on a smile and walk." He says, shutting the door and beginning to walk.

"So are you just going to walk me home in silence?" I question him.
"You hate me, why would you want me to talk to you?"
"Because I hate silence more." I reply.
"I don't understand you." He sighs. "I thought girls were complicated but you bring it to another level."
"You know what? Stay quiet."
"No." He replies. "Why do you hate jocks? Why do you hate me? I haven't done anything to you."
"It's not about what you did it's about what's someone-" I cut myself off realising I've said to much. "Can we please just not talk?"
"You were going to say it's about what someone else did to you." Jordan says. "It was a jock, wasn't it?"
"I'm not talking about this." I say which causes Jordan to stop walking.
"Fine." He says. "But I'm not moving until you tell me."
"Don't be such a child." I sigh.
"Are you going to tell me or not?"
"Not." I snap back, walking to a bench and sitting down. "Looks like we're going to be here sometime then."

What feels like hours go by, I check my phone to see it's three o'clock and school has now finished. "Well thanks for the silence but I'll catch a ride off my brother." I say.
"No." Jordan says, snatching my phone from my hand. "You can't be mad at me over something I didn't do."
"I can be mad at you for stealing my phone and forcing me to stay outside when I haven't eaten in hours." I say.
Reluctantly, he hands me the phone back. "You don't have to get a ride, I'll walk you."
"Even though I don't trust you to do that, I'll give you then benefit of the doubt, don't fuck it up." I say, walking with him.

"How are you liking school?" He asks.
"Seriously? Small talk?" I ask. "Like you care about that."
"Well what do you want to talk about then." Jordan laughs.
"You still didn't answer my question from before. Why you left school early?"
"I saw my sister leaving, she looked like she was about to cry so I snuck out of gym class and came to see what went down."
"But jocks can't miss gym. It's what makes them jocks." I chuckle, mockingly.
"You are the impossible girl." He replies. "Other girls would of said it's sweet I left for my sister."
"I'm not other girls." I say.
"You most definitely are not."
"And you should remember that next time you're my knight in shining armour." I scoff.
"What that you're not the damsel but the fire breathing dragon?" He questions.
"Exactly." I reply.
"Well I've seen you in an argument, your words burn."
"Good play on words, for a jock anyway." I say.
"It amuses me that you think calling me a jock is an insult." He says.
"There's nothing worse than being a jock or a cheerleader." I sigh.
"What would you do if I called you a cheerleader?"
"Soak your hair that you spend hours doing every morning in petrol before setting it on fire." I reply.
"Most girls would of replied with a simple 'kill you' or 'punch you' maybe a 'put you in the bin'"
"Again, do I look like most girls?" I question as we walk outside my house. "How'd you know where I lived?"
"It's a small town, everyone knows everyone."
"But you don't know me, it's apart of my defence." I reply.
"It wasn't hard to dig stuff up about you." Jordan answers.
"You asked about me?"
"Yup."
"Probably just asked your twin sister, sure she had a fact file on me." I laugh, walking up my driveway. "See you around jock."
"Bye fire breather."
