Walking through the door I see my mom waiting in the kitchen, her eyes instantly meet mine. "Come here." She orders.
"Mom, what are you doing home?" I ask, walking through.
"Your school called, then your brother did." She says, darting her eyes over to Andy who is sat on his laptop.
"You snitched?" I question.
"I had too."
"You were suspended?!" She exclaims.
"Only for today."
"For fighting Hayley. Your dad was a fighting man and look where he is today." She says.
"Maybe growing up with dad is the reason why I'm so tough. Why I handle my problems rather than just drinking my ass off every night like you do." I explain.
"You will not talk to me like that!"
"Why? You won't remember tomorrow, I bet you're drunk right now." I say.
"Sit."
"I am not a dog." I scoff.
"No, but you are a bitch." She replies. "Now sit."
"Mom." Andy speaks up.
"Go to your room Andy." She orders.
He closes the laptop before heading out and jogging up the stairs. I take a seat at the island. "I am sorry I'm not around but that doesn't mean you can go off the rails like this."
"Did you ever think that I go off the rails because I have no parental guidance?" I question her. "I've raised myself since dad died, Andy has tried but I always push him away."
"Don't be so dramatic-"
"Dad is dead mom. And what have you done since then? You tell us you're working late every night but Andy and I both know you're heading to the bar to spend the money you just earned at what ever job you're doing at the moment."
"It's not like that."
"Isn't it?" I question her. "I miss dad so much, he made me the person I am today."
"Then maybe it's a good job he's gone because I wouldn't want him to ruin you anymore."
"He didn't ruin me! I am fine the way I am. He taught me not to be pushed around, showed me right from wrong and what did you do but sit there and drink wine whilst dad rolled in the cash."
"Do you want to know how he made that cash? Illegal cage fighting, drag races, drug selling." She tells me.
"He may not of been perfect but he tried his best!" I shout. "And I will never stop defending his honour!"
"Get upstairs! Get to your room! And do not come out until morning!" She yells at me.
"You are a pathetic excuse for a mother!" I scream at her.
"And you are a worthless child! I moved you here to start over from the bad life your dad lead you into but you just recreated it! You are just like your dad, you never learn!"
"And you are the same as you always were! A better hoe than a mother who sleeps around and drinks!"
"Go to your room!" She throws her glass at my head but it smashes on the wall next to me instead. I stand still, staring at her with shock slapped across my face. "Baby I'm so sorry." She apologises, standing up.
"Where have I heard that before?" I question before running up the stairs and slamming the door. I throw a duffle bag on to the bed before packing it with a set of clothes and everything I need for a couple nights. I don't know where I'm going but I'm not staying here.
