Chapter 2

Nathan's pov.

I wake up beside Scarlet and smile while thinking about my perfect life.

Nobody except from Scarlet and Sophie are perfect... And me?

Okay, in love with myself, much?

"Scar." I shake her slightly as she slowly opens her eyes.

"Mmm..." She replies as I sigh and get out of the bed.

"Scarlet, get up." I order as she shakes her head and buries her face in her pillow.

"Scarlet, get the fuck up!" I shout as she gets up and storms out of the bedroom in her pyjamas.

"Scarlet!" I shout as she turns to me the tears forming in her eyes.

"Piss off!" She shouts before walking away again.

"Scarl-" She cuts me off.

"I said piss off!" She shouts again as I sigh and let her go.

Scarlet's pov.

Why is he being like this?

He's been like this with me before.

But I just swallowed it down and took it instead of walking away but I don't understand why.

What have I done wrong?

I walk back to him and glare at him.

"What have I done wrong? Tell me exactly what I did wrong." I say as he looks away from me and sighs.

"I can't." He whispers as I stare at him.

"Why? Tell me Nathan." I say as he turns to me, "WHY?!" I shout as he turns his head to me quickly.

"BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG, OKAY?!?! DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER?!?!" He screams at me before going into the bedroom then walking out dressed before I hear the front door slam shut as the tears roll down my cheeks and I land on the floor.

All the tears I have left are falling and falling fast.

They pick up their pace as I cry harder before feeling someone's tiny arms wrap round my neck.

I look and see Sophie hugging me. I hug her back as she starts crying softy into my chest.

"I heard you and daddy shouting. Please don't leave. I love daddy. Please mommy. Don't leave daddy. I love daddy so much." She sobs into my shoulder as I then look up after feeling someone else's presence and see Nathan stood in front of me and Sophie.

I shush her before kissing her head.

"Sophie, let me and daddy talk for a bit okay?" I say as she nods and walks slowly into her room.

"Go on missy, room so me and daddy can talk." I say as she nods slowly and closes her bedroom door.

I know how nosey she is so I know she's listening through the door so I take Nathan to our room and shut the door.

"Scarlet, I'm sorry." He says while looking at the floor, "It started to rain so I came back." He says as I nod and not say anything, "Please say something." He says as I stay silent.

"I think it's best if we take a break." I say as Nathan looks at me his eyes full of tears, "Away from each other." I say as he shakes his head.

"No, Scarlet. Please." He sobs as I look at him and sigh at how broken he looks.

"I just know something's gonna go wrong Nathan. Something or someone is gonna interfere and then something or someone is gonna go wrong and I don't want that to happen." I say as he shakes his head still sobbing into his hands.

"Scarlet, please don't. I love you." He says as I sigh and hug him.

"I'm sorry Nathan. I have to go."

I leave not knowing where to go or what to do so I just let my feet take me wherever until I get knocked out of my daydream by a car's horn before everything goes black.
