"Oh my god! I'm so proud of you!" My brother said on the phone as I walked home from school that night.
"Ya it was awesome! They want me to go Friday. I've got the whole night to pack. I can't wait to see you!" I said getting closer to the house.
"So have you told dad?" He asked.
"Um. No not yet." I said anxiously.
I haven't told my dad. He will never let me go.
"Then what are you going to do? You know he won't say yes! He's going to make you stay." He says almost yelling.
"I know, I know. But- I know. Just don't worry about that."
"Ok. Stay safe. My friends are calling me. I gotta go, call me tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow." I said standing right in front of my house.
"Okay. Work it it with dad okay. I love you."
"Love you too. Mwah." I said
"Mwah" he said back. We hanged up the phone.
Me and my brother have a special relationship. He's been a better dad figure than mine.
As I walk in the the house, I find my dad sitting at the table, with an envelope in his hand. He looks at me with a glare. Oh god.
"What's this?" He said holding up the envelope.
He handed me the envelope, and I opened it. It said
"CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE "ELSA" IN THE BROADWAY PRODUCTION OF "FROZEN"! SINCE YOU ARE A PARENT, WE SENT THIS TO YOU TELLING THE FLIGHT INFO AND REHEARSAL DAYS. YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER WILL BE LEAVING FRIDAY AT 3:30 PM ON FLIGHT 354. WE WILL YOU REHEARSAL DAYS in NEW YORK. THANK YOU AND SEE YOU IN NYC."
"What did you think you were gonna do? Just run of and think I wasn't gonna look for you! You are not going to New York for that garbage they call Broadway!"
He yelled at me. He never been this angry.
"It's not garbage. It's music and talent! And why can't I go. It's not like it would make any difference to you! Like you care about my well being." I yelled.
He started to get closer to me.
"Listen young lady. This is my house, YOU HEAR ME! And what I say GOES. Therefore you are not going to New York."
He then turned and say back in his seat. I couldn't take him anymore and let it out.
"You just want me for the money because you know that if I stay with you the government will give you money!" I yelled.
He stood up.
"WHO ARE YOU EVEN GOIN TO STAY WITH IN NEW YORK!"
"Brian. He has his own apartment." I said quietly.
"Your brother? Please he will never take care of you. He too busy running around with his silliness."
"He's not silly! I'm going to New York!" I yelled.
"As long as your under my roof, and follow my rules, you will not go anywhere! Go to your room!"
"Fine!"
I walked up the stairs wiping tears. I locked the door of my room and just lied I my bed.
Then a light bulb went in my head.
I picked up my phone and called Ann.
She picked up fast.
Ann: Hey My broadway star! What's up.
Me:Hey! Can I spend the night at your house?
Ann:Oh sure! But don't you have to pack?
Me: I can pack there.
Ann: Oh ok. What time you coming?
Me: I'll be over there on about 30 minutes.
Ann: K Bye!
Me: Bye.
I stared to stuff all my clothes in to luggage without folding. I was going to do that at Ann's.
I'm running away.
I finished packing and walked down stairs.
I saw Dad at the kitchen table getting popcorn. I could make a run for it.
I began to run.
"Hey!" He caught me.
"Where do you think your going?"
"No where." I said startled.
"You think it would be that easy! Go to your room!" He yelled.
"No!" I said grabbing the door knob and running out. I ran so fast he was yelling so much trash, but I couldn't hear him.
I finally reached Ann's house which is 1 mile away from mines (no longer mine).
I knocked on the door panting.
Ann opened the door an let me in.
