Chapter 3

The lesson was just us riding and he looked at us and fixed our position .i then ate and went to bed the next day was exactly like the one before but in stead of jumpin in the morning a barrol racing ,then school and in the after noon a went to the stables same time a yesterday and I groomed raven again after picking out her hooves I saw my western teacher walk up to me I put the hoover pick dowel and went out of the stall he got right to the point
Western teacher " joe you have my class today don't you "
I nodded
Western teacher " my sceguall has changed ,so the main event class was s on at that time but I think you are up to that level "
Me " yeah sure "
Western teacher " great thank you come at normal time to the large round ring "
And with that he left ,I was exited I would be in the main class ,and he thinks that is up to my level .
I talked raven up in her western saddle and bridal and Breastplate ,I then got changed to my western boots with small spurs and my cowboy hat I still had my polo shirt on and my riding jodhpurs but didn't to bother to change as jeans anrt mandatory .

Leading raven to the large round pen I noticed I was the only one there and checked the time "5.21 I was early so I lead raven in
Western teacher " ah joe ,I hope it is ok that your the only girl "
Me " I don't mind ,but where is everyone "
Western teacher " well the boys are late ,for reframe come to class early for about ten minutes,so you can warm up "
Me" ok ,thanks what are we doing to day"
Western teacher " well why don't you warm up and you will see "
I started to walk raven then the boys started to show up some  stared at me and some didn't even acknowledge me ,they all were on horses with western saddles an all were what I have on and almost all had the green polo or orange and brown and then one or two of the others colours .

Western teacher "ok everyone gathered round "
Everyone formed around the teacher
" as you all know I am bill ,and I would like to introduce you to joe " he pointed to me
They all numbered hello then one boy just said
" she's a girl ,barrel racing is a boys sport and she's a...a girl "
I wasn't a fended  I actually laughed
Bill" Jason ,there are no rules ,so girls are allowed to do western "
Jason"well then where was she last lesson "
Bill" well western is her second "
Jason" that why is she on this lesson this is main western"
Bill " well I watches joe practice and she is up to your level ,now stop arguing Jason I'm in charge and I have let joe practice with us  "

Everyone went quiet
Bill" know can we get on with the lesson " we did a bit of practice and direction changing then bill set up a barrel course and everyone went there times about the same and a bit slower then Jason goes and he seemed to be the lead and the best the boss of this class and his time is
Bill " 11.02,well done Jason ,joe can you go next "
I nodded as he set the time I kicked raven on she responded and we set of with one hand I guided raven around the first barrel it was slow but raven is picking up speed as we head to the second barrel she was really stretching out we got around the third barrel the sand was going up in Claude's and as I asked for a little more out raven she gave me a burst of speed to the last barrel as we went round the sand made a big cloud and we went for the final stretch raven just ate up the ground and we went past the finesh line the sand finally cleared and everyone was silent I looked up at bill he was silent as well
Bill" I think that is a new recorded ...10.01"
All the boys cheered except Jason who just stared .

We went through Sumer tricks and then the lesson finished the boys did t judge as a girl and they were fine that I did western.

As I just took of ravens saddle and was taking her bridal of when she tents up and I new someone was standing in front of her stall ,
Me" what are you doing here,Jason"
Jason" who did you know I was here "
Me " I didn't raven did "
I finished with her bridal and put it back
Jason" um I'm sorry I thought only boys are good at barrel racing ,your really good "
Me " what for a girl "
I got a brush and started to brush raven
Jason" I'm sorry ,ok I'm trying to say...is that your good "
Me " I know" I said
Jason" look I'm trying to..."
I cut him of
Me"look, I don't care that you want to apologise ,I get it a girl is better than you a sport but you should be glad it s only my second so you don't have to deal with me for one lesson a week and then you can be the best again,ok ,and I don't care how good I am or compared to others ,I'm only here to enjoy my riding and learn more ,ok ,so can you just leave me and my horse "
I was staring at him then turned and kept grooming raven and left to get something to eat then went to bed.
