I trust her to carry me all the way book 1 ( a horse story )

Chapter 12

We looked at all kind of things then at 4:45 we went back to where miss Ross was ,we met her just fixing on the harnesses ,we were getting our horses ready when the rest of the girls came we left at about 5:17 it was starting to get a bit dark and when we left it was nearly pitch black it was still early but dark ,we left and miss Ross had brought torches with her so we could light our way ,about five minuets after we started it started to rain a bit at first but then hard and it was the beginning of a storm we left about ten minuets ago .

We were walking past a curve when lightening and thunder struck a tree right next to us ,first the Clydesdale reared and took of but he didn't get far there is a ditch on the side of the road and the carriage drive right in ,then thunder reared and the other girl on the horse was un steady and struggling to hold her horse ,miss Ross shouted out
" is everyone ok"
We all said we're fine
" ok Millie hit her head and the carriage is stuck can you girls ride back and get help"
Girl " I can't jewel ,is a dressage horse and can't run all the way shel get freaked out "
Emma " thunder can be rly stay on the spot he'll throw me if I ask him to run"
Me " I have my western saddle on ,and raven won't make is that far at a gallop"
Miss Ross " ,sigh' ok them we could call ,no signal ,ok then..."
I cut her of
"'I could take the saddle of I be fine bereback "
" are you sure "
" yeah I've done it before "
" ok then "
She son the torch to me so I had light and Emma put the saddle on the carriage
" joe"
" yeah "
" be carful "
" I will"
I jumped on raven and we went of at a gallop the rain was stinging on my skin at a walk it was twenty minutes then at a gallop about five if I push her

The rain made the way slippery raven nearly slipped over a couple of times I thought we had gone the wrong way when i finally saw the lights of the court yard we rad through the gates it was nearly pitch black I pulled raven up quickly and she reared I nearly fell of but it did the trick to get someone attention,a cupel of lights went on in the main block we reared agien and I waved the torch light in the sky a teacher came out ,my old English ridding teacher

" joe what are you doing "
" the carriage to tower broke down and someone hit there head and is hurt and they can't free the carriage "
I blabbed on
" ok slow down where is it "
" about twenty minutes away at the curve "
" ok we will sort this out ,you go stable your horse she looked like she did a hell of a run"
By now more teachers had come out, I mounted of and lead raven away and she was breathing heavily and had white foam ,on her neck and chest from running .
I brought her to the stables and there was bill sorting out a horse he saw me and came running in
" joe what happened "
" un carriage crashed ... hurt ,thunder ...had to run ...back get h...help "
I was shaking and freezing and out of breath I didn't need to say any more he nodded and we lead raven to a wash stall
We washed her with warm wanted dried her put on a blanket and gave her feed with warm barley ,Raven was fine ,she didn't catch any thing ,only then did I notice I was freezing and shaking ,just then bill put a blanket on me
Bill" that was a very brave thing to do ride bare back in the dark in a storm with spiking rain coming down on you "
I smiled
" thanked ,but it was all ravens worked her this morning jumping and I new just walking would be tough for her ,and she had her western saddle so I took it of she would not have made it and I asked a lot of her to day "
I looked at bill he was on thought
" what type of work to day "
" cross country"
" your the mystery rider "
" seemed like lots of people can finger it out but joe did you ,you have never seen me jump"
" well you worked her today so did the mystery rider ,and you rode bare back in the dark here ,so I put one and one together ,but who else knows "
" miss Ross she fingerd it our , Jason did and Emma I tiled she was there since the first video ,but they all promised not to tell  do you "

We shook hands just then ,I herd horses and I truck
" there back there fine "
I ran out to the court yard to see a ambulance with Millie in and miss Ross and fore girls with blankets around and talking to the head I ran over
" your ok "
I stoped I front of everyone
Miss Ross " thanks to you ,truly head master this girl deserves a award the way she acted tonight "
Head " I here'd something about a midnight adventure ,about a girl ridding bare back in the dark in the middle of a storm"
I lowered my head a little
" thank you joe black "
I lifted my head and the head was smiling at me
Mis Ross " how is raven"
Bill" she is fine we sorted her out and she didn't catch anything "
Miss" that is good news that horse of yours is truly amazing "
Emma " I know this a lovely moment but could we go inside because my blanket is soaked "

We went in to the heads office we got dry blankets and a hot chocolate ,we said what happen than we were tolled to go of to our dorms and the head said we Gould take it easy tomorrow .

When me and Emma got to our dorms and open the door to the common room we found the whole  first year of the hour all sitting down and talking to Jane ,that saw us and started asking a bunch of question
" what happen " was that you on the horse " I herd there was a crash is that true "

We didn't know how to answer that so Jane
" ok ok everyone quieter down ,I'm sure you have lots of questions ,but these two girls need sure rest "

Me " thanks Jane and we can tell you tomorrow but I need to get a shower so I will sea you all tomorrow "
They all said goodnight
Emma " I'm fine ,I'll stay and tell them "
Me " ok "

After the best shower I had ever had I went down stares in the same blanket ,I was still cooled I was about to go in when I herd Emma
" ok so I can't ride ,thunder would through me the other girls horse was dressage so she would never make it joe had her western saddle on ,so she took it of and galloped away in the dark in the storm with only a torch bareback and half an hour later rescue comes "

I smile a little at Emma's exaggeration of what happened I entered to find the room dead quiet and everyone staring T me
" i herd what you said Emma and it didn't happen like that at least not how heroic your making it sound "
" well it is true "
" tell them what you want ,but it was just a Gallo back to the school any o e would have done it ,anyway I'm going to bed "
And with that I left I went to bed changed to my p.j and went to bed I fell asleep straight away .

When I woke ,there was a BANG BANG and a BANG I open my eyes and that were blurry ,really blurry I herd a muffled voice and a figure in front of me
" joe at you all right you like terrible "
The novice was torched to my ears ,I had gotten a really bad ,like really bad cold
" g..get the doc..tor "
Before I blacked out ,the last thing I remember was more badged and then a really Big Bang

They were foot steps and a door .
