Chapter 4

The next day ,I did my normal routine and got up early .working raven with some small jumps and working on my position.school came and then went ,I had jumping class so headed down to the stables .

I was getting ravens saddle positioned on her back when Emma came running to me ,
" joe , do you have spare jumping boots "
She seemed really anxious
" yeah I guess,but you don't have jumping to day "
" the school messed up my times so I have jumping to day "
I gave them to her a pair and the then ran of to her horse I saddled raven and lead her to the arena it was empty and I had spare time ,I knotted the rains and crossed the stirrups over I did a warm up and guided raven with my hips .

I was doing a figure of eight with my hands on my hips and lead raven in two sum cantering circle still leading her with my movement of my hips ,people started to come in and warm up so I fixed my stirrups and my Raines and warmed up a but more ,the teacher came In and gathered us In

"ok everyone the second day of the evaluation,to day I have set up a course of jumps the rice higher gradually then one you have finished you start again the course will be raised you keep going until your horse refuses or you nock down a rail  ,so who will be first "

A girl raised her hand and trotted her horse on she went over the jumps they were only one foot high but they ended up growing to three foot before the horse refused after exhaustion a cupel of other people went Emma was ok but stoped at around two feet six  .

I was last to go as I trotted raven around to the first jump the  first two rounds went well the the jumps were up to the firsts girls level I cleared it and the jumps were going up to three feet I here'd some gasps as I cleared a 3.6 foot high jump I cleared a 3.9,4.0 double and was coming round to start again the jumps were now four feet and I had cleared the first two jump there were four strides between the second and third jump at the at the second stride I turned raven of and slowed her down and gave her a good pat in the neck she was exhausted she slowed to a trot and I turned her back to the group they all stared at me the teacher spoke .

" why did you stop joe you did t nock o rake or refuse "
" I didn't want to over work raven she was exhausted ,so I just took her of the course ,she was done and I don't think she could have jumped any more ,and did t want to risk her getting hurt "

" well that is very wise ,now everyone cool down you horses and you are dismissed "

As I finished to cool down raven I was heading out of the arena when the first Gil that went over the course came up to me ,
Girl " hey ,what do you think your doing "
She said in a angry voice
Me" I'm riding why "
I said still not turning to face her ,I dismounted and started to lead raven when she talked again
Girl " no,you can't just come here pretend you the best I am "
Me" I never said I was the best , and don't intend to so you can chill a bit "
I lead raven and thank god she didn't follow me as I tied to a cross tie Emma came up to me ,as white as a gouts she gave me back my jumping boots ,
Emma " do you know you just spoke to "
I shook my head to say no
Emma" that was Lora light-hand,she is like a celebrity here "
Me" and"
Emma" and she is mad at you ,you showed her up till now there has been no better rider than her "
Me" so what , I'm not interested In being the best ,I am interested in being the best that I can be"
I finesse with ravens tack and lead her away
I waved up the jumping boots
Me" thank for giving these back ,if you need them for Friday then feel free"
And left Emma standing there .

After I settled raven I left to get diner , as I walked to a clear table I here d whisper of,
" she is the one that showed up Lora "
" yeah I hers she was better by a mile"
And things like that as I was about to sit I herd my name called by a boy two tables over ,I looked over to see four boys and Jason ,gesturing over for me to sit with them ,I went over and sat on the far space that was free .

They all looked like they saw a three headed lion, I placed my tray down and asked
" so what's going on here "
I said with a small Lough Jason replied
" is it true that you showed up Lora "
" by showed her you mean ..."
" well apparently ,you practically moped the flaw with her "
" well I did get further in the jumping course than her ,but I didn't mope the flaw with her "
A another  boy spoke
Boy " still your the first to have know one has even been near her level of riding, let alone beat her "
A another spoke
" and rumer has is that she is not happy about it "
Jason " well sorry to say goodbye we liked you but your dead if Lora wants you dead "
Me " I don't see the problem I beat her bye one exercise "
They were all silent
I started a nether topic about the class tomorrow I learned all there names on was kody ,max,jack ,Jordan and Jason
We sort of became friends ,and we decided to eat together from now on .

When I got back to my dorm house and went in the coven room there were about ten people in my house and five were there at the time Emma jumped up from the sofa as I came in and ran up to me
" who were the boys you ate with at lunch "
She said in a squeal by the time all heads had turned to me
Me" they were from my western class and wanted to ask about the whole Lora thing"
All the girls stared at me now and one spoke up
" you do western "
In the most surprised voice
Me " yeah so "
That all just went silent
Bye now the dorm monitor came in and asked what is going on
" well there surprised that I do western "
Monitor " well if she wants to do it then it is her choice "
I thanked her and heads to my mine and Emma's room to take a shower then did my homework and went to bed .
