I trust her to carry me all the way book 1 ( a horse story )

Chapter 5

To day was the second western lesson of the day ,I got up early and was heading out like always when Emma was up and looked at me then with the most bland voice she said
" can I come with you and watch "'
" un sure but I'm heading out now so hurry "

I was just bringing my saddle out and putting it n ravens back when Emma said
" joe ,why do you do jumping and western "
I didn't need to think no as I new the answer
" well I do it because I want to get my adrenalin going and raven is a horse that you can't do one sport with , plus I can't decide which I wanted to , I grew up with both so "
" ok ,just wondering "

I finished tacking raven up and was leading her to the arena ,Emma had seated her self in the stance , I was getting the barrels set up and moved some poles that were in the way ,and then mounted up and warmed up raven after cantering and then coming to quite stops the was fine to go .

I set her up to go and then kicked her on she responded and ran forwarded we came to the first barrel ,went round it I asked for I bit more speed from raven and she stretched out her strides we went round the second barrel the n the third the Sand is picking up a bit but not much then as we got to the last barrel the sand got a bit stronger then we did the last run and came to a stop ,the sand went and I trotted over to Emma
" so what do you think"
" that was amazing ,but not something I want to try "
I shrugged my shoulders ,then the one thing I would not think to happen happened
" I don't call that riding,just poor excuse to come to this school "
I didn't turn but said" no body cares "
I dismounted raven and handed the rains to Emma as I cleared the barrels ,Lora and her " gang " went past I was curious so I asked
" hey Lora I'm just curious ,but what is your second "
" dressage "
I turned to Emma and said " Emma I feel bad for you ,Lora is in everyone of you classes "
" so your Emma ,the one where the school messed up your timetable "
She looked shy and just nodded Lora continued
"So why do you hang out with this loser ,not like she is your friend "
Suddenly something clicked  in Emma's eyes and she shot back
" she is my friend and my roommate ,plus it is non of your business what I do "
I was surprised ,and happy for Emma that she stood up for her self ,Lora looked taken back and said
" well ,what do I care any way unless you riding you have to leave that arena "
I didn't take notice and gestured for Emma to follow me she looked glad I called her over we untacked raven and Emma helped me groom her Lowe talked and I think we could be good friends .

During school we had three classes together out of five and we sat together ,after school we split up to tack up our horses   And I got my boots spurs and hat then finished taking up raven and was leading her to the round ring that we have our lessons in when I saw Lora and a bunch of others go in to the ring ,I was now running to the ring .

As I came in I saw bill and a nether teacher arguing all the dressage class was there and Jason I went up to him
" what's going on here "
" well apparently the dressage ring is getting cleared so they think they can use the round ring "
" they can't do that can they "
" we will find out ,bill is coming over now"
As he said that bill turned and cam towards us
Bill" well ,we have to Share the arena "
Me,Jason" what ,"
Bill " sorry guys but we have no other choice "

The rest of boys came and we folded them ,and they all mowed but we dealt with it when we warmed up we kept crashing in to each other after the warm up of doom bill called us in and we talked and we then practiced quite stops to hults Which at the end of a race we need to do so we went up in turns and it went well
Bill" ok now I would like you to run across and do a hult but the run to the other side and hurt agien do this a couple of times then ones you confutable when you stop lift your hat  and lead you horse with one hand "

We all nodded and max went up then Jordan ,jack three boys that I did t know Jason went next then it was my turn ,
I don't know if that was me but I felt that the dressage team were staring at me I trotted to the middle and on an instant I turned and was leading raven to the edge ,I quickly pulled in the rains then we stoped then lead her around and rad to the other side ,I felt like I could do it with one hand as we got the the next stop I swapped hands and with one hand I reached my  hat and lifted it then put it on my head and turned raven around to the other direction we did it again then ran to the middle and came to a stop by now sand has rose up like smoke and I came down and bill said
" well done joe ,excellent ,but next time make you turns more controlled they looked a bit rushed and second guest "
Me" ok thanks "
I trotted over to the side and patted raven on the neck as I looked up the dressage class were looking at me then they notice I was looking at then they did what they were doing before , I smiled I little in side .

Rest of the lesson was  on getting out horses to go back wards ,only me and Jason could but we could already so it wasn't fare but is was not a competition .

After the lesson I washed raven and dried her then mixed her hard feed and groomed her a bit ,I went to get diner ,I Met up with the boys  and we talked about how we could help with the house so they can learn how to teach the horses to walk backwards .

As I got back to the dorms I logged on to my computer there was a message from bill
" all western students are to weird there assigned shirts they may pick up from there dorm monitor ,shirts should be in house coler
