Chapter 11

**Later that night**

I go to my room.

I feel so broken right now.

I need someone to talk to.

I text Hayes.

Lauryn :hey babe. do u mind talking with me?

Hayes : what happened bae???

Lauryn: im feeling sad..

He didn't text back for 5 mins. What happened.

All of a sudden I hear a knock at my window.

It's hayes!

He knocks gesturing to open the window.

I open it.

"Hayes! What are you doing here?"

"I can't let you be sad."

He jumps into my room.

"How did you get up here?"

"Hey. If I can climb trees. I can climb roofs."

I laugh.

"Okay. But just keep it down. My family is sleeping and I can't have boys in my room at night."

"Gotcha. So why is my girlfriend sad?"

he says laying down on my bed.

"..Troop."

"What happened?"

"They're putting him down tomorrow.."

I start crying. again.

"Oh my gosh! Come here."

I climb on my bed and snuggle up to his chest as he puts his arm around my waist.

"I-I -It's just hard. I feel like I - I - I didn't do enough for him.." I say struggling to speak because of my constant bawling.

"Babe. Things come and go. They leave a huge impact on your life and all of a sudden 'BAM!' they're gone. But as they leave, they'll never forget that one thing they had a reason living for. That's just like you and Troop. Troop has been with you for over 10 years! You know what that is? That's 10 years of happiness and joy. And he'll never forget the person that made that all happen."

Hayes is right.

"Thanks hayes."

"No problem."

I look up at hayes and he kisses me.

I start to drifting off to sleep still on Hayes' chest.

"Goodnight beautiful."

"Goodnight Hayes."

We both fall asleep.
