Chapter 10

Dan's POV

Olivia and I have been together for two years now and I know it might be too soon but I'm gonna propose to her. It might sound cheesy but she's the love of my life and I don't know what I would've done without her by my side. 

I met up with Will, Woody and Kyle to tell them what I'm planning on doing.

"Dude, that is great! How are you gonna do it?" Kyle asked excitedly

"Well, I'm not sure yet, but I was hoping you guys could help me," I said.

"You could do something romantic, you know like a romantic dinner then you pop the question," Will suggested.

"That's a good idea, Will," I said thinking.

"Does she like romantic stuff like that?" Woody asked

"She likes romantic things but I don't want it to be too cliché," I said.

We thought of something and since her birthday is coming up, I'm going to plan a holiday to The Bahamas and then pop the question.

It was the day before Olivia's birthday and the day we are going to The Bahamas. I made sure I had everything that was important (the ring) and we made our way to the airport. We sat in the lounge area of the airport because we had an hour to go before we boarded the plane.

"I'm so happy!" Olivia said bursting with excitement.

"Me too, I can't wait to get on the plane," I said holding her hand.

"Thank you for this birthday present," Olivia said placing her head on my chest.

"You're welcome my little Olive," I replied kissing her forehead.

We boarded the plane, Olivia sat in the seat next to the window and I sat next to her in the middle seat. The plane would take us about 8 hours to get to The Bahamas, during that time, we had a meal then we slept for the rest of the flight. As we stepped off the plane, I felt the cool breeze and the hot golden sun on me. 

We got to our hotel room and it was beautiful. The bed was covered in flower petals, we had a little living room area and kitchen, so basically it was an apartment. The sliding doors opened onto a balcony facing the beach. 

We had a rest meaning we slept until the evening due to being jetlagged then we got ready and went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. 

"I can't believe we slept from 10 am to 7 pm," I said laughing.

"I know, at least we're well rested," Olivia laughed. 

"I have a little surprise for your birthday tomorrow," I said.

"Ooh, what is it?" She asked

"If I tell you it won't be a surprise now," I smirked.

"Can't you just tell me a little bit about it?" She pleaded.

"No, Olivia," I said taking a sip of my wine.

"Fine then," she said folding her arms. 

We had dinner then we took a stroll on the beach, then we finally went to bed. 

Today was Olivia's birthday and I got up an hour early to prep everything. I ordered room service and sort of decorated the room with balloons, confetti and a banner saying 'Happy Birthday!'. After prepping everything, Olivia finally woke up with a confused look on her face. 

"Happy birthday babe!" I shouted

"Oh my god Dan!" She said sitting up in the bed

"Do you like it?" I asked

"Like it? I love it!" She said giving me a kiss

"When did you do all of this?" Olivia asked pointing at all the decorations. 

"Well, I got up early to do it and ordered room service as well," I replied showing her the tray with food

"Is that red velvet cake I see?" Olivia asked 

"Yes, just for you," I smiled.

"Dan, thank you for this," Olivia said wrapping her arms around me and kissing me. 

Seeing her this content over this was great, I can't imagine how she'll react when I propose. 

After having breakfast in bed we made our way to the beach where the surprise awaits. Olivia was wearing a black and white bikini while I wore a pair of black shorts. Olivia looked beautiful with the sun shining down on her skin and her long curly hair blowing in the breeze. Sometimes I wonder how'd I get so lucky. 

"Guess what we're going to do now?" I asked holding her by her waist. 

"Hmm, does it have something to do with water?" She asked

"Yes and something else," I said showing her what were going to do

"Dan, are you telling me that were going to be swimming with pigs?" 

"Yes were are."

We walked over to the pigs and Olivia automatically fell in love with the pigs. For the rest of our time with the pigs, we had the opportunity to feed them, which Olivia enjoyed. 

"Are you having a good time?" I asked 

"This is the best birthday I've ever had Dan!" She said pulling me in for a kiss. "Thank you."

"Now, for the surprise," I smiled

"Wait, what? I thought this was the surprise?" She asked looking at me confused

"Olivia, over a few years we've had our ups and downs and at one point we weren't even on speaking terms but being with you has got to be the best thing that has happened to me. You always put a smile on my face and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So will you marry me my little Olive?" I said getting down on one knee

"Y-yes, of course, I'll marry you!" she said with tears running down her face

I placed the ring on her finger then I stood up and gave her a kiss. 

"This is the best surprise ever."
