"Puppy!" (for Kelsey)

It was currently my birthday and I was waiting for Colby to come home, he said he had to go get my gift.

A few minutes passed by and I heard the front door open.

I saw Colby walk through the front door with a blindfold in his left and and his vlogging camera in his right, recording me.

"You have to put this on." He said as he walked over to me.

I stood up from the couch.

"Isn't this David's thing?" I said as I took the blindfold from him.

He laughed.

"Once you put it on, you can sit back down."

I nodded and tied it around my head.

"Where's the couch again?" I asked.

I heard him laugh.

"Right behind you."

I nodded and felt around for the couch, once I found it, I sat down and waited for Colby to say something.

"Okay, I'm going to go get your gift, so stay here."

"Ok."

I heard his footsteps get quieter as he walked away.

I sat there for about 2 minutes

I heard Colby come back into the room.

"Okay, hold out your hands."

"I'm scared." I said as I slowly put my hands out in front of me.

"Don't be, it's not thaaattttt bad."

"That means it's kinda bad!" I exclaimed as I quickly pulled my hands away.

He laughed.

"I was kidding."

I slowly put my hands back it in front of me.

"Okay, you have to guess what it is."

I nodded.

I felt a hard object slowly being placed in my hands. (a/n THAT SOUNDS VERY DIRTY DEAR GOD)

"What the fuck?" I said once the object was fully in my hands.

I felt around and I concluded that I was holding a medium sized box.

"Why am I holding a box?" I asked.

"Take the blindfold off."

I took it off and stared at the white box that was sitting on my lap.

I looked up at Colby with a confused look on my face.

"Open it." He stated, smiling.

I skeptically placed my hands on the lid of the box and slowly opened it.

I set the lid on my couch cushion next to me and looked in the box.

Inside the box was a red leash.

"A leash?" I asked, looking back up at him. I was so confused.

He nodded. "Now follow me."

I stood up and he led me to my bedroom door.

"Ready?" He asked, looking at me.

"I guess." I placed my hand on the door knob. I slowly turned it and pushed it open.

As soon as I walked into the room, I heard a jingling noise and a faint pitter-patter.

I looked around my room, then I felt something furry touch my feet. I looked down and saw the cutest puppy ever. It was a baby Husky, my favorite.

"Puppy!" I squealed and plopped down onto the ground.

I picked up the puppy and held it in my arms.

I immediately felt my eyes start to water.

I've wanted a dog forever, but the place I used to live at, didn't allow pets. I just moved a few months ago and I guess with all the changes, I forgot about the whole dog thing.

I set the puppy on the floor and stood up. I end over to Colby, who was still vlogging me, and hugged him.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome babe."

I released from the hug and returned my attention back to the little ball of cuteness that was laying on the floor.

I started talking to it with a baby voice.

Colby sat on the floor next to me.

"Now, the real question is, what to name it?"
