Living a Double Life

Chapter 19

Amber woke up in bed at 6 in the morning. She rubbed her eye and stretched her arm out to hear it crack. She looked over to see Addison asleep in her bed, with her back facing her. Amber decided to go order some food from the hotel room service. She ordered some food for her and Addison.

After about 10 minutes, Amber was sitting in bed on her phone and she heard a light knock at their hotel door. Amber got up and opened the door. The hotel employee pushed the food inside the room on a cart and she paid the hotel employee for the food. He left the room and closed the door behind them.

When the employee left, Amber walked over to Addison who was still asleep. She shook Addison's shoulder until she woke up.

"Addison, Addison. Come on you gotta get up." Amber whispered shaking Addison's shoulder. Eventually Addison was awake.

"Good morning Addison." Amber stated.

"Morning Amber." Addison yawned.

"There's food on the cart. Take whatever you want. I already have food." Amber stated sitting down on her bed.

"Alright, thanks." Addison said getting up out of bed. Addison walked up to the cart and grabbed food.

"I'm gonna get in the shower and then you can get ready so we can work on our part." Amber sighed getting up and grabbing clothes to go take a shower.

*ten minutes later*

Amber walked out of the bathroom and hangs her towel up. She plugs in the hair dryer and dries her hair.

"You should probably go take a shower. While you take a shower, I'm gonna look into where we have to go." Amber exclaimed getting up the computer in their room.

"Ok, I'll be out in a few minutes to help." Addison states.

*7 minutes later*

"You still need help finding the location?" Addison asked.

"No, I think I found it. It's this building right here." Amber replies pointing to a place on the computer.

"Alright, I guess we better start heading out so we can finish our part." Addison exclaimed as Amber got up from the chair she was sitting in.

They walked as it wasn't too far from their hotel. Both Addison and Amber were dressed in all black with their hoods half on so they could hide their headsets. They reached the building and walked around it to try and find a way to get inside without having to break anything. They finally found an opening in the fence. They crawled through the opening and soon found a piece of the wall that looked like it had been blown out, but the wall around it was still standing. It looked like if you leaned on it, the rest of the wall would fall.

Amber and Addison walked through the hole in the wall and revealed a huge room with nothing but debris scattered all over the place. Amber looked around and noticed a hidden staircase that led up to a wall. She pointed it out to Addison as she went to inspect the wall. Addison looked around the room and spotted something opposite if Amber's secret staircase that didn't look right. She walked up to a wall to see it had wires coming out of the bottom of the wall. She pulled at it and watched the wires were the same color as the wall. The wires were connected to something that was just out of Addison's reach. She pushed a pile of debris up against the wall and stood on top of the debris. There were wires sticking out of the wall. She pushed around on the wall until part of the wall went in almost like a button. When the pushed part of the wall, a doorway was revealed at the top of Amber's secret staircase. They walked through and when they did the door closed behind them.

They walked through the long corridor and reached a huge room will file cabinets and two desks with computers on them. They walked up to the computers and turned them on.

"Alright, open the files in this computer. And I'm pretty sure our classified file said we need to deactivate any security for wherever this place is linked to." Amber whispers.

Addison and Amber work together to deactivate the security equipment used in whatever place this is used for. They deactivate any security device being used by this unknown location. Deactivating the security equipment took hours to finally finish. But once done, Amber pushes a newly added button on the side of her watch.

The new button was added for this mission specifically. It transmits a signal that goes back to Doson and Campbell, saying this group is finished with their task they were told to complete. Doson and Campbell then look to see who has to perform their job next. They send a signal to whoever's group needs to perform their task next.

Amber and Addison finish up and leave the building before anyone notices they were there doing something they weren't supposed to be doing in a place they shouldn't be. They head back to their hotel room to find it cleaned with the bed neatly made and all their garbage from breakfast was gone.

They ordered dinner as it was almost 5:30 in the evening. They were trying to deactivate the security stuff and completely lost track of time. They ordered, paid for the food, and ate the food while watching some YouTube on the computer. After finishing dinner, they put their plates back on the cart and pushed it outside to be picked up. They changed into their pajama clothes and got into bed. Addison lied down and was out like a light. Amber, however was up a bit longer than Addison. She was chatting with Mackenzie and Kendall about how tired she was right then and there. Kendall and Mackenzie said they were tired themselves. Mackenzie was the first to leave, then Kendall, and Amber last. She had this feeling that something bad was gonna happen in the end. But in the end she completely forgot about it and fell asleep.
