Chapter 2 - coming together

I threw the large bag into the boot, taking a deep breath once I finally did it.
" Who's driving? " Gray asked.
I raised a brow, placing my hand on my hip and giving him a funny look.
" if we want to die today, then you can drive " I joked, as he acted offended.
" I'd rather live with my beautiful wife, so let's go " He said, emphasising ' beautiful wife '
" 16 years of marriage and you're still a cringey bitch " I said, climbing into the drivers seat.
" isn't he? " Darcie added, and I laughed.
Darcie and Alex were in the back seat, on their phones and listening to music while we began driving...

After around an hour of driving, I began to get sick of the silence from Darcie and Alex.
" come on, lets have a family sing a long " I joked, wanting to make them cringe as much as possible
" please don't say that ever again " Alex advised, making me burst out laughing.
" come on! " I said, as they buried their faces in their hands out of embarrassment.
Grayson couldn't stop laughing, and I focused my attention back onto the road while humming the lyrics to one of my favourite songs, movements.
" I actually really like this song " Darcie smiled.
" yeah, mom you have good music taste " Alex complimented.
" why thank you Alexander " I smirked.
" okay why do you keep calling me that? It's Alex on my birth certificate... you should know! You named me! " He yelled, and I chuckled out of amusement.
" I know I know, calm your tits " I rolled my eyes, still finding it funny how much I pick on my children.
Don't worry, they know I don't mean it ;)

The sun was shining through the car window, as the engine rumbled. All of our windows were opened fully as we drove down through the countryside, excited to finally be reaching the campsite. The smell of the grass, the weather, the flowers, everything about it makes me love it ten times more. We come every year on our annual camping trip, and as stupid as it sounds we always have a great time. The kids really enjoy it, and they especially enjoy messing with our friends.
Our car made the familiar sound when it crunched along the gravel, letting me know that we were indeed here. I peeked out the window, smiling when I saw all of our friends already there. They were carrying their food and bags out of their vehicles and taking them towards the tents that they'd already set up.
" Hola Amigos! " I yelled, parking the car and jumping out.
" mom shut up " Darcie joked, chuckling as she said it.
Darcie and Alex grabbed their bags, running towards everyone and greeting them with hugs and handshakes.
" Hi guys " I smiled, coming face to face with Brandon, Hunter and Ashton.
" Hey girly " Brandon smirked, pulling me in for a hug which I accepted.
I hugged each of the boys, noticing how much a few of the kids grew in the few weeks I've not seen them.
" holy shit you've grew like a foot! " I said to Dylan, who laughed.
" I'm only 14, I'm going to grow Anna " he laughed, as I ruffled his hair and turned to his parents.
" Guys, you need to stop your kid from growing, he's too tall " I said to Blake and Ariel, who laughed.
" he gets it from me " Blake said, and I smiled.
I sat down, noticing that one person wasn't there.
" where's Jayden? " I asked.
" he wanted to drive here on his own " Kendall said, rolling her eyes.
" oh well, the car would've been squished with him there " Katie laughed.
Kendall and Cameron now have three kids. Jayden of course, Katie, and Jake.

Almost on cue, loud music was heard. I turned and saw Jayden's car, chuckling as all of the kids jumped up and ran towards it excitedly.
" Jay!!! " They all screamed, obviously rather happy to be seeing Jayden again.
He's now 19, and he's obviously the oldest of them all. They all look up to him, and they're like siblings.

As soon as Jayden was bombarded with hugs from everyone, he walked over to me with a large smile on his face.
" Anna " he cheered, already comparing his height to mine.
" shut up... you've also grown, I know " I laughed.
" it's only been what, two weeks? " he asked.
I nodded, sitting back down next to Weston and Niomi.

Ethan and Olivia ended up having twins, Niomi and Jack. They're both completely different, just like Ethan and Gray in many ways. They remind me of them, and it's freaking adorable.
" guys can you go somewhere and leave us alone, please? " Cameron asked, and the kids rolled their eyes.
" that was rather rude, dad " Jayden laughed, as Cameron chuckled.
" can we go on the rope swing? " Jack asked.
" sure, but don't push Dylan off the swing again, remember how hurt his leg was last year... " Olivia said, and I giggled at the memory.
" I won't, I promise " Jack giggled, wiggling his brows.
