Chapter 25 - great first impression

I sighed, burying my face into Grayson's shoulder even more. The doctors haven't updated us on what's happening with Darcie yet, and I'm starting to get even more anxious. The room was silent, the occasional tapping coming from Weston's foot as he tapped it to the beat of the music in his headphones. Just as I was about to get up and find Darcie's room myself, the doors opened, and I rushed towards Jayden as he stepped inside the waiting room.
" is she okay? " Jayden asked, hugging me tightly before pulling away to look at me.
He looked scared, and I could see how much he was hoping for everything to be alright.
" yeah, I think... we haven't been able to see her yet but we will be able to soon " I replied, as he breathed a sigh of relief.
" Naomi beat the living shit out of the girl who did it though! " Jack added, yelling it as he earned another slap on the back of the head, this time from Lola.
Jayden chuckled, before turning to look beside him. I followed his gaze, my eyes being met with a girl. She had long brown hair, the most gorgeous eyes and cute freckles on her cheeks. She was beautiful, and I instantly felt rude for not noticing her beside him.
" oh I'm so sorry... I'm Anna, Jayden's auntie " I introduced myself, pulling her in for a friendly hug which she accepted.
I refer to myself as all of the kids auntie, I pretty much am anyway!
" nice to meet you, I'm Amara " She smiled, pulling away and looking at me with a friendly look.
She seems lovely, I can already tell.
" mom, dad... this is my girlfriend, Amara " Jayden said, motioning for Kendall and Cameron to stand up.
They did as he said, making their way over to her and introducing themselves. I just realised how bad of a first impression this was... she meets us while we're in the hospital because of a fight...
" we're not always like this... the fights and stuff " Weston laughed, reading my mind.
She nodded, as Katie offered her a seat beside her.
All of the girls squished up together, wanting to talk to Amara and get to know her. I don't blame them though, she seems amazing. Jayden is like all of the kids big brother, so they obviously want to be close with the girl who makes him really happy!

Everyone was getting along great, which made me a lot more positive. I was knocked out of my trance when the doctor stepped into the room, looking at the large group of us and raising a brow.
" all of you for Darcie Dolan? " He asked, as everyone nodded.
" a big family " He chuckled, and I laughed.
" well Darcie is awake and doing well... she is able to go home tonight but she must be well rested and take the medication we gave her... her head is sore from the fall so be careful with her " He announced, and everyone breathed a large sigh of relief.
" okay, can we all go in? " Grayson asked, standing up.
" not everyone, we can't fit that many... she can come out and go home as soon as she's packed, so I recommend that just her parents and any siblings go in and help her out " He smiled, as Alex, Grayson and I nodded.
" we'll be back with Darcie in ten " Alex told everyone, and they agreed before continuing to have their conversation.
We made our way down the hallway, following the doctor as he reached a small room on the end. He pushed open the door, and I smiled when I saw Darcie sitting on the bed. She was up and doing fine, but her head was swollen and the blood stain was still there. Her jaw was slightly bruised, and her nose was slightly puffy. It'll take a week or so for the swelling to go down, I know that for a fact.
" Darcie baby... are you feeling okay? " I asked, sitting beside her and pulling her in for a gentle hug.
" I'm fine mom... just a little sore " Darcie mumbled, and I nodded, kidding her forehead.
" I'm not letting anything like this happen again, never " I said.
She chuckled, taking a sip of water and rubbing her head. She winced at the pain, squeezing her eyes shut tightly at the contact of her hand against her head.
" We were so worried about you, everyone is out there waiting to see you " Grayson said, and her eyes lit up when she realised that all of her friends and family were there.
" yeah, and Jayden's girlfriend is here... she's really nice " Alex smirked, as she jumped up with a smile.
As soon as she stood up she pulled Alex into her arms, hugging her brother and I'm pretty sure she was crying into his shoulder. Only small tears, and very quiet sobs escaping her lips every once in a while. It hurt to see her in so much pain, and to think that the people at school caused this... it really fucking annoys me.
" I love you, Al " She smiled, pulling away.
" I love you too " He replied, as Grayson and I watched their cute moment.
They argue like cat and dog, but make up every single time. They can't stay mad at one another, and they're like best friends. Darcie cares about Alex so much, and the other way around. Nothing can ruin their relationship, or even slightly shatter it.
