For Twag53
Once again slightly altered, but it for the most part is relevant to your request.Long had the journey of the Fellowship been, and yet they had truly just began.
Leading them was the mysterious Aragorn son of Arathorn. The heir to Elendil proved a very knowledgeable guide, and so the company was able to fully place their trust in him. Following behind were four hobbits; Meriadoc Brandybuck, Peregrin Took, Frodo Baggins, and Samwise Gamgee. All from the Shire, the small group had rather voluntarily started the whole affair when they first fled from their humbled homes from the Nazgul- the servants of Sauron.
Following even them were several select members of the company. The second member of the race of Men, Boromir son of Denethor, prince of Gondor, was no doubt the strongest of Men who had been selected. With him came the Dwarf, Gimli Gloín's son. As well as with him walked proudly the two elven siblings, Legolas Greenleaf Prince of Mirkwood, and (Y/N) of Mirkwood, Princess of the land.
Every Fellowship companion had gotten on well enough with their fellows, and each had shown great kindness and understanding towards one another in turn. All was peaceful within the small band of companions, and yet despite this, each member had a quick-paced heart. For each dreaded what was to arise come the end of their travels.
In the meanwhile, however, they had attempted to forget the darkness which awaited them at their destination. In trying this, the younger hobbits, Merry and Pippin, had both won the approval of many of their fellows. For an instance, even Legolas laughed at their jests after having observed his sister doing so herself for a rather long time. And soon enough, their was not one companion who could not be humored by the two young hobbits.
Despite all this and that of which they witnessed; beauty everlasting in the wondrous world about them, their hearts still remained clouded by the dark shadow of doubt. Reassurance was scarce, as well as long-lasting comfort.
And yet save all of the exhaustion and deep thought, the company still managed to press on as far as the hobbits' legs could carry them before they gave way. A great distance was bypassed every day, and still an even greater distance awaited them.
"This distance may seem much longer and more difficult to bear, now that we have lost our wizard," (Y/N) sighed to her brother as they lagged behind suddenly from the others. Legolas sighed in turn and nodded his agreement. The two had mourned his loss very little, due to the fact that the company had had no time to delay. And so, the very thought of the wise Gandalf was enough to sink their hearts immensely.
"He should not have fallen. Especially not at the hands of a Balrog," Legolas said in a melancholic tone. The two siblings walked slowly and spoke in hushed tones in their own tongue as the company ahead of them spoke loudly and near-carelessly about the journey both behind and ahead.
"We should ask Aragorn if we plan to make haste to Lorien. I fear now that it may very well be our final hope," (Y/N) whispered to her brother. Legolas agreed silently. And so the two made their way with care to the front of the company, and soon they walked at a quick pace beside Aragorn.
"What is it? Legolas, (Y/N)," Aragorn sighed. He seemed very weary, and yet he managed to continue on with the journey. The two elves paused before answering.
"We would simply like to know, Aragorn Arathorn's son," (Y/N) began.
As an old habit compelled him, Legolas finished, "Might we make a stop in Lorien?"
"That is what I have planned, yes," Aragorn replied tiredly. The elves nodded to themselves and continued on.
"Thank you, Aragorn. That is all which we wished to know," said (Y/N) as she and her brother fell back slightly. Aragorn sighed yet smiled. Despite them currently being the eldest of the company, they still acted as the youngest when they would band together. It was truthfully quite amusing.
