A month later

***CASSIE***

It's been a month since Calum and I started dating. We've been totally happy. He's different than I thought. I expected him to be a stuck-up, egotistical dick, but he was actually really sweet. I amlaying on his couch with my head on his chest.

Jenna and I are meeting up in about and hour. So I decide to leave and get ready.

"I'll see you tonight, Calum," I say as I open the door.

"Ok, wait!" he yells. He rushes over to me and places his lips on mine. He wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer. I finally pull away smiling. No matter how many times he kisses me, I still feel like a little girl.

"I couldn't let you leave without doing that," he says. "Ok, bye now!" He pushes me  out the door. I laugh and head to my car, wondering how I got so lucky.

"You know, Calum really does like you," Jenna tells me.

I turn to her. "How do you know?"

"He never looked at me the way he looks at you, Cassie," she says. "He's serious about you. That's something I don't think he's done with anyone else."

"Oh," I say, smiling as I think about him.

Since Calum's parents are out of town, he has the whole house to himself. Well, besides me.

We're laying on the couch with a movie on. My head is on his chest, and I listen to his heartbeat and feel the way his chest rises and falls with each breath. What would I do if his heart didn't beat anymore, or his chest stopped rising and falling. I look at m y phone. It's 11:23.

"I'm gonna go, Calum," I say and stand to leave. "My mom's gonna be worried."

He groans. "Can't you just stay, Cassie?" He grabs my wrist and pulls me close to him.

"Calum, I can't," I say.

"Please, pretty please..?" he pleads with me.

I sigh and roll my eyes playfully. "Fine."

"Yay," he says and pulls me back onto the couch. He pulls me close to him so that I'm facing him and our faces are only inches apart. We stare into each others eyes for a long time before either of us says anything.

"I love you, Cassie," he says. Butterflies lurch in my stomach. That's the first time he's said I love you. I smile.

"I love you too, Calum."

"Good, cuz I think I wanna stick with you for a while, if that's ok with you?" he says, smiling.

"Ya, that's just fine with me." Calum pulls me closer and wraps his arms around me. I rest my head on his chest and let myself fall asleep.
