CHAPTER 3
We decide to go to the beach today to get a little sun and play in the water. Immediately Luke and Heather swim as far out as they can. Luke is 13 and Heather is as well, they're twins. They usually keep to themselves after all of their two parents drowned last summer. They used to be really funny, some of my favorite cousins. Now they just aren't that fun. Kristi and Aiden begin making a sand castle. Ky suntans and puts her earbuds in. Misty, Mayla, and Max play beach volleyball. Everything is perfect. I smile. This is the happiest I've been in a while. Suddenly, something feels off. All the seagulls fly away from the water. I then hear a sound like a lion's roar. The wall of water comes rushing at us. "RUN!" I yell.
