Chapter 9
~Kristi
Suddenly I see him. "Luke! It's Aiden!"
"No it's not." He says too quickly. "I've already been down there. It's not him."
"Yes. It. Is." I say through grit teeth. "I can see his scar." Aiden got his scar from jumping out of a window at the party our house burned down and all of our parents died. No one else could have a scar like his. I wade towards him and Luke yells to me. I don't listen, but concentrate on quickly and swiftly wading over to my brother. "AIDEN!" I yell. Nobody near him says anything. "Why are you laying on the ground?" I ask. When I finally approach him I gasp. He doesn't look so good. His skin is pale and his face has no blood in it. I lay my head on his chest and hear only a little tiny pound. "He's alive!" I yell. "Why didn't you save him?"
"Just let him go. He's as good as dead anyway!"
"NO!" I scream. Tears flow down my cheeks. "LEAVE ME HERE IF YOU WON'T TAKE HIM! ... I AM NOT LEAVING WITHOUT MY BROTHER!"
"It's for the best Kristi."
"NO!"
"Yes"
"NO!"
"FINE!"
