When Josh was certain that, the weird Seth guy wasnt following him, he slowed down.
Josh stopped for a moment to catch his breath.
He wasnt actaully going to go to the hospital at first because most of him didnt believe what Chase was saying.
Now he had nothing else better to do.
Josh's POV
I didnt even know where I was going. I asked siri where the hospital was and the closest hospital was called 'The Itex' so I thought I would give it a try.
It was two miles away so I walked in the direction of the hospital, silently praying Tyler was there.
I mean, I sacrificed everything for Tyler and i'm not even sure why either. One minute I was watching him get bullied by my so called friends then I was in the middle of it all.
Tyler was pretty much the only person I had left. I sighed and walked a little faster.
Walking gave me time to think, and trust me, I thought a lot.
I looked through my phone and put my earbuds in, letting myself forget about everything and listen to music.
Music always calmed me down whenever I was having a bad day or I just needed a little cheering up.
My phone started buzzing and I realised where I was Itex. It said on a huge sign above the entrance.
I scratched the back of my head and breathed in nervously.
As I walked in a blast of hot air and the hospital smell hit me.
"Hello, welcome to Itex," a friendly young lady said as I stood in front of a large desk.
"Hi, is a kid, or um, teenager here, or uh," "whats the persons name?" The lady asked and faced her computer.
"T-tyler um," I thought for a moment. How could I not know his last name. "Joseph?" I answered questioningly.
She typed something up on her computer. "Room 148," she said and gave me a big smile.
I was surprised. I thought I would have to give her my name or fill something out.
She didnt give me any directions. I sighed and went to the second story on the elevator.
A woman holding a baby came into the elevator and pressed the third floor.
"Hi," the baby chirped and waved a skinny hand at me. I smiled and waved. "Hi, sorry about that," the woman said a scolded the baby.
"Oh no no, it's fine," I said and smiled. "Oh okay," she said and let her baby rome around the elevator floor.
The woman had on a tight black long sleeved shirt and boot cut jeans. She had dark hair and dark brown eyes.
Her baby, on the other hand, was skinny, obviously sick, had light brown hair and blue eyes.
"So, are you seeing anyone?" She asked "um yeah my," then I paused "friend," I finished "yeah, i'm taking my baby, Lucy, up to her room, she just got uh, diagnosed for um, cancer," she paused.
"Oh, i'm so sorry," I said "it's, it's okay," she stuttered and sighed "i'm Rina," she said politely "i'm Josh," I said and we shook hands.
As the elevator door opened, signaling for me to go out, I said "good luck," to Rina and walked out the elevator doors.
Lucy waved at me and made me smile.
I completely forgot to ask the woman if she knew where the room was.
I saw a room 130 so I knew I must be close.
I started walking down the hall 131, 132, 133, 134. I counted each one until finally I reached room 148.
I pumped my fists in the air and suddenly felt dizzy, I was so nervous.
I knocked on the door and hoped for the best.
Tyler's POV
The police officer took me to the hospital and rudely talked to all the nice people.
After getting situated in my hospital room the lady said "A nurse will be here to check on you soon," I nodded my head.
I started flipping through channels and almost fell asleep while watching Elmo's World.
I heard a knock and figured it was one of the nurses. "Hi, Tyler?" A deep voice asked quietly from behind my door.
I accidently made a little peeping sound and in came Josh Dun. "Tyler," Josh said and walked towards me.
I violently shook my head and squeezed my eyes shut trying not to let any tears fall out.
"Hey, Tyler, it's okay," Josh said and sat on the bed. "Tyler," he said and hugged me.
I was sitting up cradling myself and he grabbed me and started rocking me.
I tried to push away but something inside me made me stay in his warm grasp.
It felt safe and it felt good. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded my head. "Good, i'm sorry about what happened at school."
I shrugged my shoulders and wiped tears from my eyes and my cheeks.
"I can leave if you want," he said and pointed to the door with his thumb. I shook my head no and he sat on the chair beside my bed.
My cheeks were red and I was embarrassed because of how much I overreacted.
I always make things so difficult. "So, anyway, what happened?" Josh asked.
I shrugged my shoulders oh you know, the usual, panic attacks and all, oh yeah, nothing to worry about papi.
I smiled thinking of calling Josh papi. "What?" He asked and smiled too.
I shrugged my shoulders and we both started laughing.
I had fun with Josh and sadly, soon enough, it was time for him to go back to his house.
I could see worry on his face and I wasn't sure if it was about me or about him going home.
