Chapter 10 -
I walked over to my dresser and threw on some pajamas. I went over to my bed and got under my covers. I reached over and grabbed my phone off of my nightstand where it was charging.
I had 5 texts from Jake and 2 missed calls. It's actually kind of sweet. I opened my Message App and clicked on the first message.
From Jake:
Hey.
I scrolled down and read the next message.
From Jake:
Caitlyn, we need to talk.
From Jake:
I know you're mad, but please just give me one more chance.
From Jake:
You're my first real relationship that wasn't set up by managers and didn't end up going horribly wrong. At least...you were. Look, I really like you, Caitlyn.
From Jake:
I'm sorry, Caitlyn. I know how hard it can be. You can't even talk to your best friend about me. You have no one to consult to.
I decided to text him back.
To Jake:
Hey.
He replied instantly.
From Jake:
Hey! I thought you were ignoring me.
To Jake:
No. Sorry! I was kind of busy, but now I'm free.
From Jake:
Oh. Okay. Sorry I called and texted so many times, but I'm just afraid of losing you.
Awwwww. He is so sweet. If we don't get back together, I may die. Wait! Stop, Caitlyn. You can't date a guy that lives on the other side of the country. Or can you? No. I can't.
To Jake:
I don't wanna lose you either, but I don't know what to do.
From Jake:
I'm working up a plan, but for now, let's just spend our last few days together.
I love mysteries!
To Jake:
Okay. I think I can live with that...on one condition.
From Jake:
What may that be?
To Jake:
No more lying.
From Jake:
Deal.
To Jake:
Alright then, it's a deal. I'm gonna go to bed now. Night.
From Jake:
Goodnight, Juliet. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
I smiled at myself, laid back down my phone, and fell into a pleasant sleep.
