Chapter 14

Chapter 14 -

"Jake! How did you get in here?" I said, pulling him into the bathroom and closing the door.

"Megan let me in..." Jake looked at me suspiciously.

"What!? You let her see you," I started to get mad at his carelessness.

"No. She was too busy on the phone with Dylan. I had him distract her. She just said come in, and she was in her room the entire time," Jake promised.

"That. Was really close. You got lucky," I said.

"Yes. Yes I did," Jake leaned in and kissed me.

Jake slid his hands down to my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Megan interrupted us by knocking on the door.

"Caitlyn? Are you still here?" Megan yelled in the bathroom.

I pulled away from Jake.

"Uh. Yah. I just had to use the bathroom," I lied.

"Isn't your boyfriend here? I thought I let him in," Jake smirked.

"I don't know. I haven't seen him," I lied.

"Oh, can I come in real quick? I need to get my curling wand. Dylan is taking me out," Megan asked, trying to open the locked door.

"Uh. Just a minute," I looked at Jake for help.

Jake mouthed the words "Hold on". I nodded. Jake pulled out his phone. A few moments later, Megan was on the phone again.

I turned the door knob slowly and peeked out. I looked both ways, and Megan was out of sight. I waved Jake out of the bathroom. We ran out of my apartment and into the elevator, laughing.

"That was close!" I exclaimed.

"Yah. Sorry you had to lie to Megan," Jake apologized.

"That's okay. It was actually kind of fun. It's like I'm a spy on a mission," I giggled.

Jake laughed.

Once we arrived downstairs, Jake ran me out into the parking lot and into his car.

Later, we arrived at Joe's Burgers.

"Two, please," Jake said to the hostess.

"Right this way," the woman said.

She placed at a booth. I sat on one side, and Jake sat on the other side. The hostess handed us our menus.

"A server will be right with you," she smiled at us.

"Aren't you afraid of getting spotted?" I asked.

"Nah. I got my lucky hat," Jake put on the fedora from our store, and he covered his face with the menu.

"What makes it so lucky?" I asked.

"It brought me to you," I blushed.

"Hi, my name is Pam. I'll be your server. Would you like to start off with something to drink?" Pam looked at me.

"I'll have a water." I answered.

"Same," Jake said, still hiding his face.

"So, when are you gonna tell me the big surprise?" I asked.

"Not until later. I have to wait for confirmation," Jake smirked.

"So, how do you like being co-stars with Jennifer Lawrence?" I asked.

"It's pretty fun. She's like my sister..." Jake started.

"Except, you wouldn't make out with your sister," I stated.

"Yah, that's true," Jake laughed.

"So, what got you into acting?" I asked.

"Well-" the waitress cut Jake off.

"Do you guys need more time?" she placed down our drinks, and Jake rushed the menu back up to his face.

"No. I think we're ready," I answered for the both of us.

"What's your Specials?" I asked.

"We have a 1/4 Pounder with cheddar cheese, a light mushroom sauce, topped with onions..." Pam said.

"I'll just have that. Medium-well," I handed her my menu.

"And for you, sir?" she asked Jake.

"Same. Can I keep this menu so I can look at the desserts?" Jake covered.

"Sure thing," Pam walked back to the kitchen.

A little while later, Pam came out with our food.

"Wow! That's a big burger!" Pam placed the buffet in front of me, my eyes growing big.

Jake nodded and shoveled the burger into his mouth, as Pam walked away. I laughed.

"What?" Jake mumbled behind his burger.

I laughed again and took a bite out of my burger.

It was the best burger I have ever tasted.

"Mmm..." Jake mumbled again.

"Agreed," I replied.

"This. Is. The best. Burger. I've ever. Had," Jake said in between bites.

"Joe knows best," I laughed.

"I'll say," Jake mumbled again.

"I'll be right back. I'm gonna go use the restroom," I got up and walked towards the restroom.

"Okay," Jake continued eating.

I walked out of the bathroom and looked over towards our table.

"OMG! It's Josh Hutcherson!" I heard one girl scream.

"I love you!" I heard another shout.

"Can I have your autograph?" another screamed.

I walked through the large crowd of girls looking for Jake.

"Jake!?" I shouted.

"Jake!?" I screamed again.

I opened my mouth to scream again, but a hand covering my mouth, stopped me.
