Chapter 5 -
Once we arrived at the restaurant, I had completely forgotten about worrying about where Jake came from and who he was.
"Here you are, miss," Jake said, opening my door.
I looked up and stepped out of the car to see the sign of the restaurant.
"We're eating at "Romano's? How did you get a reservation on such short notice?" I asked, shocked.
"I have my connections," Jake answered.
We walked up to the restaurant and Jake held the door open for me.
"I'm gonna go to the bathroom real quick," I said.
Jake nodded as he walked over to the hostess' desk to put in his name to get our table.

After I finished using the bathroom, I headed over to find Jake. He was sitting by himself at a booth in the corner of the restaurant. I took a deep breath and walked over to my date.
"Hey," I sat down.
He looked up at me and smiled.
"Hey," he replied.
A waitress came over and took our order. She nodded and walked back to the kitchen.
"So..." we both said at the same time.
We both stopped. I blushed.
"You first," he said.
"Oh, I see I am in the presence of a gentleman," I giggled.
He blushed, sitting up straight.
"So, where do you live? You aren't from around here." I stated.
"Is it that obvious?" he asked.
I nodded.
"It was a little more obvious, because you have never heard of "Joe's Burgers" before. Everyone who knows anyone has been to "Joe's Burgers"," I answered.
"Well, I guess I don't know anyone then. As to where I live, I live in LA." Jake said.
"LA? Why are you in New York, then?" I asked.
Just then, the waitress brought over our food. After that, we just sat there quietly eating, question still unanswered.
After dinner, Jake took me home. We rode up the elevator to my apartment. We stood in front of the door awkwardly. He stood there staring at me, head slightly tilted.
"What?" I scrunched up my face.
"There's something mysterious about you...I feel like I've known you my whole life. I can tell you anything," he stated.
"Yah. Same here. Obviously I haven't, because you live in LA." I agreed.
"Exactly!" he replied.
"You know. You never answered my question earlier..." I started rambling.
I ramble when I get nervous, especially around guys.
"Is that so?" he stepped closer to me.
"Yes. It is. Why are you in New-" he stopped me.
Just then, he leaned over and kissed me.
