The Battle Inside

Chapter 2

Kirstie POV

I awoke from my deep slumber when I could hear my phone ringing. I lifted my head and grabbed for it. I looked at the contact ID, which said 'Kervy'.

Normal - Kirstie  Bold - Kevin

"Hello?"

"Hey Kirst!"

"What do you want at this time in the morning?" I glanced over at my alarm clock which glowed 7:11 A.M.

"Sorry I woke you up up so early, but you left one of your jackets here, and I need someone to help wake up America!"

"Fine. You want me to get some breakfast on the way?"

"Yes please! Some MacDonald's would be nice."

"Okay, see you in half an hour."

"Later."

I hung up and dragged myself off my wonderful mattress of comfortableness. I changed into some track pants, t-shirt, jacket, and a pair of sandals . I snatched my car keys from the table and head out to my car. On my way there, some douche-bag ran a red light and was so close from hitting my side.

"HEY! WATCH IT!" I yelled after him, but he was already long gone. I just rolled my eyes and carried on to their house.

I parked in their drive way and walked up to the front door. I was just about to ring the doorbell, when Kevin opened the door from the inside. I smiled and gave him a side hug. Walked past him and set the food on the tabletop.

"Alright, let's go wake up America."

I creeped towards Avi's door which was ajar. I slowly opened it so it didn't make any noise, and tip-toed to his bed side.

"Ready?" I whispered.

Kevin nodded. "On three." We counted down and then we jumped and yelled out Avi's name.

Avi POV

I was in the middle of dreaming about dragons and barbeque, until two lunatics screamed and jumped on top of me.

"WAKEY WAKEY AVI!!!" A female voice, probably Kirstie's woke me from my beautiful dream.

"WHAT THE FU-" I started to yell until Kevin put a hand on my mouth.

"Hey, no swearing!" He said putting on a motherly voice.

We began laughing and they got off of me. That was, until Kirst decided to do fall again.

"Oops, I slipped!" She giggled and threw herself on me again, just when I was standing up, causing me to fall down onto the floor. I looked up and saw that her face was inches from mine. I could feel my face getting hot instantly as I stared at her. We just laid there until Kevin cleared his throat.

"Stand up lovebirds. I want to eat some food!"

Normally, I would jump up and race to the table, but right now I just wanted to stay here forever. I helped Kirstie up after I stood up myself. I shot Kevin a glare. He is the only one who knows about my feelings for Kirstie, apart from my two sisters, Esther and Alex, of course. We grabbed our food and just sat on the couch. I put on The Hobbit and started munching on my burger. The three of us pretty much stayed there the whole day. We called Scott and Mitch over for a movie night. They would pick the movies, Kevin would be doing whatever he is planning to do here at home, while Kirstie and I would go shopping for snacks.

It was really awkward in the car. We would have small conversations here and there, but that's all. Everything was fine, until I accidentally knocked over a bag of chips from the shelves. We both bent down to get it, not knowing the other one was doing the same. We grabbed it at the exact same time, and our hands were on top of each others. I lifted my head and saw that Kirstie was staring at me, making my blush a deep crimson. She started going red as well and retracted her hand.
