"There they are." A male voice called.
I opened my eyes to see a group of three agents now in the chasm.
I wiggled away from Bucky and stood. "Thank you so much-"
One of the men took off his mask. "Recognize us Ms. Barnes?" He taunted with a devilish smirk. I now saw the red octopus on their black suits. Fear over came me I raised my gun and stood protectively in front of Bucky.
"No, Zola's been captured." I mumbled.
"He's not the leader now is he?" The man snarled, "besides cut one head off another grows back."
"Hail HYDRA!" The small gathering of agents said in union.
"What do you want?" I snarled.
"We have orders to bring you two back to base we weren't finished with you the first time." The agent replied just as viciously.
"Finished with what? Having me as a lab rat?"
The agent just smirked. "You'll see."
"No I won't." I said before shooting the agent to the left of him, who fell to the ground with a small groan.
"Kate?" I heard Bucky softly ask from behind me.
I cocked my gun and aimed again. "Hold on we have a predicament."
Before I could unload on another agent the main guy shot at me. Yelping I ducked. Which I immediately regretted remembering Bucky was behind me. Luckily he was able to scramble out of the way as well.
I raised my gun again, however Bucky took hold of my arm and forced me to lower my rifle. "Don't we need them to get us out of here, if we kill them we'll certainly die here at least if we go with them we have a chance." He warned.
"I can fly a helicopter." I argued.
Bucky looked puzzled, "since when?"
I shrugged "I actually have no idea how but how hard can it be?"
I shrugged Bucky's hand off me and fired again I missed sadly. The main agent now fired back at me successfully hitting my already injured hand. My rifle fell from my hands.
I shrieked grasping my hand. The agents took advantage and rushed at me. I managed to make one of them drop their gun and then kicked him to the ground. However he recovered quickly and me and Bucky were soon captured. Though I made sure to make this very difficult.
Screaming, kicking, scratching, and even biting the guard carrying me to wherever. I even got out of his grasp once. But eventually the agents agreed on knocking me unconscious to silence me.
When I resurfaced I couldn't really see anything. Everything was confusing. I knew I was no longer in the mountains I was inside somewhere. I was being put into some type of container. A very small container that was freezing cold.
A door swung shut on me and I didn't have any chance to recognize anything before the cold engulfed me.
"Hey stupid I said ease her out!" I heard someone yell.
"Where's the fun in that?" Another voice replies.
The door opens. I nearly fall out of the container I had been in. Sharp pain on my cheek wakes me. The room is dizzying a moment before my sight returns properly. The room is drafty and blandly colored an unimpressive grey. Two HYDRA agents are with me. One holding me up.
"Good you're awake let's go." The agent holding me snarls.
He and the other agent drag me by my upper arms down an even blander hallway. In an even less impressive paint color. I sighed miserably. Guess I'm a prisoner of war again. I had no idea how I was gonna get out of this one. Maybe I could at least find Bucky.
I hoped to God he was okay. Finally I was brought to a lab. Dimly lit tables with tubes of peculiar substances cluttered on smooth metal tables piled high with mountains of files. A long metal examination table stood in the center of the pandemonium of a room.
I was roughly forced onto it and strapped down to it with leather straps. I thought maybe I had a chance of cutting the straps with my dagger. Sadly my dagger was gone and chains had been added to restrict my movement.
The agents moved to guard the door, while a figure moved toward me from a dark corner of the room. I seriously think HYDRA has rehearsals of their torture or something.
"Hello Ms. Barnes." A drawling German accent came from the figure. The voice sounded like Zola's but it couldn't be he was trapped back in England.
But the figure emerged to be the short disturbing looking evil German scientist. He regarded me with an amused triumphant smirk. I struggled in the chains.
"Ah, ah ah stop that. You belong permanently to us now. There's no escape." Arnim Zola chastised.
"The U.S. will beat you into the ground," I spat, "you'll never win."
"Oh, that's right you've been frozen in time." Zola replies smugly.
"Frozen in time?" I asked. That couldn't be true that wasn't possible.
"That little holding container you've been in was cyrofreeze you've been in there nearly two years." Zola explained.
"That's bull dung that's not possible." I scoffed.
"You're wrong, it's no longer 1943, it's now 1946. The war is over you're petty American friends think you and Sergeant Barnes dead. You stupid Americans may have won the so called war but that was just one battle HYDRA has lived on and we may have lost the battle but we'll surely win the war."
"What? That's ridiculous it's still 1943. How could I miss out on two years?" I scoffed more refusing to believe what I'm being told.
"Think about it why would I admit defeat before the war was over?" Zola said.
"I don't know you people are ridiculous but manipulating." I spat.
Arnim Zola just shrugged, "well believe what you want but I have business to attend to with you."
"I will not take part in HYDRA." I spat struggling more in my confinement.
"Oh you will in due time. Let's start with that mess of a hand." Zola replied.
"You'll fix it? Why?" It seemed with every question asked I became more confused.
Arnim Zola smirked evilly, "I'll do better than just 'fix' it."
