"Wait , let me get this straight. YOU'RE LEAVING SEATTLE?!"

I nodded. My voice box has been temporarily shut down for the time being. Lucy and Nicole are crashing at my house for a nightover . They were supposed to be consoling me,but looks like it was tough for them to take in the news.

"I mean, this is injustice. You'll turn 18 in a couple of months from now and you should be given a choice-"

"Well, try telling Emma that Nikki." Lucy points out to her twin. Nicole hides her face in a Vogue magazine, no longer eager to join the conversation.

Lucy and Nicole lost their mom when they were both ten and their dad remarried. Their stepmom, Tessa, is a great lady but both the girls never gave her a chance to become their mother. Since the death of their mom , Lucy and Nicole have bonded quite a lot with my mom,Emma Cooper. My mom considers them as her own daughters - Both of them have grown so attached  that it hurts them to argue with her in any manner.

"Sandy , your mom is aware of the..differences between you and Mrs Emerson right?"

My eyes widen when I considered Lucy's question. I've never talked to my mom about my problems in school. My mom has always been worried about me -about my frequent nightmares, the period of depression when my dad died, etc. I don't want to add school problems in that list. Besides, my mom and Mrs Emerson have always been in good terms..I don't want to spoil that.

"Earth to Miss Cooper!" Lucy yelled.

I jumped out of my reverie and shook my head.

"Why not?"

I just shrugged, not in the mood to explain anything.

"But what will happen..to us when you go? Who will I paint with? I can't paint without your help, Sandy! You are the best in the entire state!!"Lucy exclaims .

"Who will I shop with? Sandy, I cannot shop without your advice !"Nicole, the fashionista broke in.

"Hey! Why am i here for!?"Lucy argues.

"Sis, you have already made yourself clear that you can't shop-"

"That's because artists cannot disturb their creativity with such inconsequential topics!"

"First of all, fashion is not inconsequential! Secondly , that's complete bullshit. Sandy has a pretty good fashion sense and she paints beautifully!"

Geez , that was..flattering.

"Look here-"

"GUYS!!"

Lucy and Nicole turned their furious faces towards me.

"I thought you two were supposed to be consoling me??"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

two months later

"Sandy, we need to move now or we'll be late for the flight!"Mom hollered.

"Yeah, yeah , I'm COMING!"I yelled back.  "Where else will I go?" I added, muttering to myself.

I looked at my now- empty room for the last time. It was completely blank-all the wallpapers(which i had designed and painted myself) were ripped from the walls, all the decorative items,my book and CD collection were already moved to New York.  I would miss my room, where I had locked my memories of childhood-some sweet, some bitter...

"Sandra , this is your room.See, its just as you wanted-garden view." dad said, opening the windows to show me the view.

"Daddy, Thank you!!" i gasped, hugging my dad tightly.
