(Astrids POV)

They next day Gobber was teaching us how to make fishing rods. I picked it up fairly quickly and caught the assigned amount of fish I had to. So Gobber let me explore some more around the island.

I headed straight towards the shed I found yesterday. When I got there the door was already unlocked. All the wooden crates and papers were picked up and organized.

I looked through the boxes and knocked some over. Then a guy in a hooded cape came in and looked at me. Then he gasped.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

I knew that voice. "I could ask the same question."

He sighed,"so you know who I am?"

"The Unknown Enemy?" I say, unsure of myself.

He removed his hood to reveal his armor and helmet. I wonder if he lives here? Where is his dragon? Why can't he just reveal himself already? Was he the one I threw my axe at? Did I actually get his blood on my axe? More and more questions flooded my head, yet I had no answers for them.

"Are you ok?" I get snapped back to reality.

"Do you live here?" I ask, ignoring his question.

"No, this is just an island I stumbled upon." He answers.

"Where is your dragon?" I processed the given information, then asked another question. I needed answers.

"Um, resting." He was defiantly hiding something.

"Where." In a cave I found on the North side of the island, why?" He started getting suspicious so I let go of the whole dragon situation.

"Just wondering. So why don't you let anybody know who you are?"

"Because I have a job and a promise I have to keep."

"You're promise is to keep dragons and vikings safe. So what is your job?"

"To never let the past haunt me."

What! What was his past?

"Hm. Were you the one I threw my axe at in the woods?"

(Hiccups POV)

It was really hard lying to Astrid, but I had to keep my secret or it would make things a lot more complicated. Also, she was searching for answers and I knew she wouldn't leave until I gave her some.

"Hm. Were you the one I threw my axe at in the woods?"

"Uh, no?" I said it in a questioning voice that would convince her that it wasn't me.

"So I didn't actually get your blood on my axe?" Now she sounded sad a confused. It was getting late and I needed to get back to Toothless or he'll start to get worried.

"Wait, what?" I was trying to sound shocked.

Then a horn blew.

(Astrids POV)

Gobber blew the horn for me to go back to camp.

"I have to go."

"I know." He replied.

I look in that direction for just a second, but when I look back, he was already gone.

*short time skip*

We roasted the fish and ate them while Gobber told us tales about the island.

Fishlegs was the first to fall asleep. Then Snotlout walked over.

Great.

"Having trouble sleeping without me?" He flirted.

"Go away, Snotlout."

"Playing hard to get, me likie." He started wiggling his eyebrows.

I pretended to gag, then shoved him backwards, into the hard dirt.

Soon he fell asleep, then the twins, and then Gobber. Not me. I couldn't fall asleep. So I went to the Northern side of the island, but there was nothing there. Not even a cave. I stopped at the pond in the middle of the island to get a drink of water and head back to camp.

*short time skip*

Its the final day on the island. Today everyone was aloud to do whatever they wanted. I wanted to go back to that shed, but Snotlout kept following me evrywhere.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"Nowhere, I'm just trying to get away from you." I responded.

"Ok, fine, you don't have to be so mean about it." He said as he walked over to the twins, who were playing with frogs.

Finally, I was alone. I headed to the volcano. I wanted to see if I could find one of the caves. I circled around it multiple times, but all I saw was that shed each time I went around it. Then an idea struck me.

What if the shed was built to cover up the cave?

I walked into the shed and looked for a trap door. Nothing. Then something emerged from behind a stack of crates.

"Astrid! What are you doing here?" The Unknown Enemy came out wearing the hooded cape over his helmet and armor again.

"You knew the entrance was here?!?" I ignored his question.

"Um. I sorta found out." He was such a horrible liar.

"You're a horrible liar."

"Thank you f-" He cut himself off, " nevermind."

"What we're you going to say?" Suddenly I had an even bigger erge to know who he was.

First that popped up in my mind was force. "Who are you!?!" I yell while holding my axe to his throat.

"You already know." He was so calm.

"I mean your true identity!"

"That's is my true identity." Still calm.

"So you don't care if I take off your helmet?!?" I'm still yelling.

"Actually, I do." How is he still calm? "I told you my job was to never let my past haunt me."

"What was your past?!?" I kept yelling, I was hopping I could get him to yell, too.

"I'm sorry." I'm so confused.

Then he twirled out of my arms, disappeared back into the tunnel, and I heared a door slam. I ran up to it and it was locked, I tried to use the key, but it didn't work. Then Gobber blew the horn. It was time for us to go home.
