(Hiccups POV)

* 2 year time skip*

So I've been the Unknow n Enemy for five years! This plan worked out a lot better than planned. Nothing really happened in the last two yeats, just raid after raid and a couple times Astrid tried to figure out who I was, but that was about it. In my free time I explored and found a couple of new islands. I trained a whole flock of Nadders, Razorwhips, Nitmares, Gronkles, and even a mixed pack.

Today is Snoggletog i will be meeting Trader Johan in the woods, at Berk,in the middle of the night to give me some gifts.
Then I will head to the cove, spend the night there, and leave first thing in the morning.

I showed Trader Johan who I was last year on my birthday.

I packed some stuff for shelter, warmth, and food. A couple of daggers and my dragon blade. I waited until dark and then headed for Berk.

(Astrids POV)

Hiccups been gone for five years now! It's Snoggletog so at times like these, I feel extra guilty. I already pre-made my Yaknog last night, so I didn't have anything to do today. I still woke up early. I headed straight towards the woods.

I'm excited for the gifts that will come. Tonight everyone will gather in the Great Hall, exchange gifts, and drink ale until they can't stand anymore. I dropped off my yearly gift to Hiccup in the pile i made over the years, on Ttafer Johans ship. The pile was gone! I figured he moved ig to another spot on the ship. So i figured when he saw these, he would put them with the others. This year I my parents are out of town, so I had no one to tell me what to do, so this year I made a promise to myself: I would drink until I couldn't feel the absence of Hiccup Horrindous Haddock III anymore.

All day I have been throwing my axe from one tree to the next. Before I knew it, it was datk, but I kept on throwing my axe.

"Ar-are you ok, Astrid?" I heard a worried voice behind me, Fishlegs.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I answer back shortly, while throwing my axe.

"You seem... a bit...sad" He was choosing his words carefully, smart.

"I said I'm fine Fishlegs." I said, annoyed.

"Well, I brought you an early present."

"And what would that be?"

"More like who." Said a familiar voice.

"Heather!"

"Astrid"

Well hugged and I thanked Fishlegs. She's grown up since I last saw her. She was wearing a cool outfit that I can't explain, only show:

Incredible right? She also told me that I looked different from the last time she saw me

Incredible right? She also told me that I looked different from the last time she saw me. I did. Fishlegs left us to have some girl time.

"So how have you been?" She asked.

"Fine." I answered.

"Ok short answers, coming from you, means your not fine, what's wrong?"

I sighed." I just" I sighed again " I don't know"

"You miss Hiccup, don't you?" I looked away from her.

"Astrid, it's OK to admit it."

"Alright, fine, I miss Hiccup. Especially at times like these. I thought that I would get over it, but as soon as I start feeling better I get a weird dream."

"What do you mean?"

I told her about my dreams and the Unknown Enemy. I noticed something, she acted funny when I talked about the Unknown Enemy. She would move her foot around in the dirt and look everywhere, but at me when I talked about him.

"Why do you keep doing that?" I asked, a bit annoyed.

"What?"

"Everytime I talk about the Unknown Enemy-" She did it again. "Heather, do you know something about him?"

"Uh, no. But I've heard many stories about him. Yours is, by far, the longest. Anyway, what do you know about, it.?" She asked, and made sure she was very vague.

"Well I know it's a he. He sometimes wears a hooded cape over his armor. He always wears a helmet. He made a promise to himself that he wouldn't let any dragon or viking get hurt, for as long as he can. He's a really skilled fighter. He has a cool flammable sword. He's smart. He blends into the darkness easily. Along with his Night Fury. " I hissed the name of the dragon and then continued "they both have eyes that can glow in the dark. He loves in a huge caves. There is a main room where all the caves are around the perimeter. He has a nice room. One of the caves even has a waterfall and in-cave lagoon. He draws well. He's persuasive. Kind, but can be a jerk at times. He's level headed. He also has a job to never let his past haunt him. So he has a mysterious and bad past. A rough upbringing. Horrible at lying. Tall. One leg. He steals them from the forge. He cares for dragons. Emerald green eyes. And-" She cut me off.

"Wow, wow, wow. Back up. You've been to his place?!?"

"Uh, yeah." This was starting to sound a bit...wrong, in a way.

"Astrid! How?!?"

I told her the story about my dark night and everything.

"So do you have any guesses on who he is." She stopped acting weird and started acting intrested, like we were talking about boys. Well we sorta were, well, a boy.

"Not a clue." She seemed a bit disappointed at my answer, " do you?"

"Nope, but I've come across him a couple of times. All of them ending with me on the floor, knocked out."

"Yeah he's a really good fighter. He may not look like much, but he's strong."

"So you seem to know more about him than anybody." She said wiggling her eyebrows.

"I've become the only one able to get within a few feet of him, and I get very vague answers from him."

"Is there any dragon raids on Snoggletog?"

"None, yet. I think he has his own type of holiday."

"Yeah maybe. Let's go to the Great Hall and get some drinks."

I'm glad Heather is here. I know she will understand my plan. We got to the Great Hall and traded presents. Heather only had three cups of ale, along with the other teens. I had five.

I was starting to feel a little numb and fuzzy all over, but I didn't mind. We all went outside to go to the woods to play truth or dare. Then I saw Johan enter the woods.

"GUYS let's follow him!" Little did I know that I yelled, so he took of running.

The six of us were hot in pursuit.
