Chapter 9th: Family Dinner

Napabuntong hininga na lang ako sa dami ng gawain at dumeretso sa kwarto ko para maligo. Sinuot ko ang jogging pants at sweater pagkatapos.

Pagkalabas ko, bumungad sa-'kin ang kaputian ni Ashleigh. "Ash naman eh!" inis ko.

Nangaasar talaga eh. Binigyan ko sya ng curious na mukha dahil sa ngiti nyang nakakawirdo.

"Pinapatawag ka ni Mommy." nakangiti nyang tugon atsaka umalis. Sumunod ako sa kanya papunta sa office ni Mrs. Hodgekinson.

"Dun yung office ni Mrs. Hodgekinson ah? bat dyan ka papunta?" tanong ko kay Ash nang napansin ko sa iba sya patungo.

Tuloy tuloy lang sya na parang walang narinig. "Uy!" sigaw ko at hinabol sya.

Nadatnan ko sina Mrs. Hodgekinson at si Ash sa garden, inaantay akong lumapit sa kanila.

"Briana, come here." gaya ng sinabi ko, lumapit sya.

"I just wanted to thank you for what you did to my son, Christian." masayang sabi ko.

Yumuko sya. "Wala po 'yon." sambit nya.

"And also thank you for making him happy." dagdag ko na ikinataas ng ulo nya.

I guess, she haven't yet noticed that she makes Christian smile. She didn't noticed that whenever we see Christian, happy, she's the reason behind it.

"So I think you deserve this." I gave her the paperbags, full of makeups and dresses that Ashleigh bought.

I just recently asked Ashleigh to bought all girl stuffs only for Briana.

"You serious mom? I'd gladly go shopping for her!" Ash said in excitement.

"Yeah! so better go now!"

"Uh- para saan po 'tong mga 'to?" curious nyang tanong habang tinitingnan ang laman ng mga paperbags.

"Well, accept it as a reward! Just go inside your room and wait until it's five o'clock. Okay?" sambit ni Ashleigh at hinila muli paakyat si Briana.

"Hayys Ash..." sabi kong nakangiti at umiling.

"What did she say?" tanong ko habang pababa si Ash.

"She said na bakit ang tagal nya daw magaantay, paano daw yung alaga nyang si Christian?" I just smiled.

Knowing that she really cares about my son.

"Mom, hindi ka naman siguro nanlalait nuh?" tanong ni Ash nang makababa.

"Come to think of it! You gave her a paperbag, full of make ups and dresses. Don't you think, iisipin nya na wala syang sense of fashion and hindi sya maganda? Im just worried because she might misunderstood why you gave those things to her."

"Baby, relax. She won't and she'll gonna love it. It's you're taste." Briana has a sense when it comes to fashion. So when i needed help about it, I just leave everything to my daughter.
