"Kimberly" Ricardo said slowly

"Hey dad" Kimberly said nonchalantly

"We need to talk" Ricardo said softly

"Can we talk later" Kimberly said yawning "I've had a long day at work, you should know better" Kimberly said

"I promise not to take much of your time" Ricardo said

"Okay" Kimberly said sitting on the sofa

"Mariana will resume as the vice CEO in two weeks time after our honeymoon" Ricardo said which got Kimberly angry immediately, she had thought he was going to apologize for getting married to her but here he was telling her that her once best friend now her stepmother would become her new boss.

"Send my congrats to her" Kimberly said trying to suppress her anger
"As you know, you'll have to give your consent" Ricardo said

"And do you think i would?" Kimberly snapped at him

"That's why I decided to inform you so you'll be prepared in the next board meeting, Kimberly you've created enough scenes already, Rose wo......

"Don't you dare mention my mother's name, you have no right to" Kimberly said obviously angry, she didn't wait for his reply before storming her room.

"Mom" Kimberly said with tears falling from her eyes
"Apologize to her now Kimberly" her mother yelled at her
"But sh....
"Should I hit you again?" Rose said sternly
"I'm I'm sorry" Kimberly quickly said looking at Mariana while Mariana just nodded her head
"Remember she's older than you and you shouldn't under any circumstances disrespect her okay?" Rose instructed
"Okay" Kimberly nodded

"Mom why did you leave so soon, why did you let that b*tch take your place" Kimberly said crying as she held on to her mother's picture. Rose had been a strong woman until the very end, she had learnt a lot of things from her, she was a loving wife, a loving mother, an entrepreneur and anything you can possibly say. Kimberly met Mariana when she was five and from that day they bonded like twins, Rose also was attracted to Mariana the first day she saw her cos she reminded her about her childhood and from that day Rose treated Mariana as her first born.
The buzzing sound of her alarm work her up, it was quarter past five and she had less than an hour to leave, not that she was late, resumption was eight but she preferred going early in order not to bump into her. She quickly went to take her bath before doing her make up, since it was the last working day of the week and putting in consideration that she would visit a club, she decided to wear something to flatter her figure, a glimmering royal blue knee length gown with a matching stiletto heels. Feeling satisfied with her dressing, she marched out of her room and was greeted by the maid Diana.

"Diana what are you doing awake by this time?" Kimberly asked raising her brow

"The lady of the house wants her breakfast" Diana said

"The lady" Kimberly cursed under her breath "where's she?"

"Sh...

"I'm right here Kimberly" Mariana spoke cutting off the maid "you can run along now Diana"

"Yes ma'am" Diana said leaving them both alone

"Did Ricardo tell you the good news" Mariana said smiling which irritated Kimberly

"Yes he told me if how you couldn't hit the right spot in him, how you failed woefully in taking him to ecstasy" Kimberly said smiling triumphantly cos she knew she had hit the right buttons.

"How dare yo....

"Auch, did I hit the wrong button?" Kimberly said smiling "I'm sorry stepmomma" she said pouting "but I gotta go now and don't think about being the vice CEO" Kimberly said storming off before Mariana had the chance of replying her.

"Gloria do I have any other meeting to attend to?" Kimberly asked feeling exhausted. She didn't know today was going to be hectic and to make matters worse her legs were hurting cos of the heels she was wearing. Today was the day she met with the investors from China, they were planning to expand the Bridge's company over there.

"No ma'am, that's all for today" Gloria said smiling

"Thanks" Kimberly said walking away
"You have a guest in your office" Gloria called after her while Kimberly stopped in her tracks

"Who's that?" Kimberly said facing her

"Mr Miguel Corera" Gloria said

"Shit" Kimberly cursed under her breath
"what's the time Gloria?"

"Its half past seven, he came around six" Gloria said

"I also don't like being kept waiting Kimberly" Miguel said staring at her
"And if I keep you waiting?" Kimberly asked challenging him
"You'll get punished" Miguel said biting her ear lobe
