"I heard you're getting engaged to Miguel" Marianna asked

"Oh about that yes" Kimberly answered nonchalantly

"is it not too sudden?"

"someone hearing that from you would think that you  really care about"

"off course I do care about you" Marianna defended

"I can see that you do, cut the crap Marianna, what do you really want?" Kimberly asked rather seriously

"Miguel is mine, stay away from him" 

"Is this coming from a married woman, Mrs. Marianna Bridge?"

"I don't know what you're playing at Kimberly, but you wont get away with this"

"why not wait and see"

"Miguel love me and me alone" 

"you sound like a frustrated house wife, oh I forgot, you're actually a house wife, but is my dad frustrating you?" Kimberly mocked

"you b*tch" Marianna yelled

"don't forget you're in my office Marianna and I can kick you out anytime I feel the need to, I'm still your boss in this four corners of my office and for the records, I know you were engaged to Miguel and that you aborted pregnancies for him and that you also ditched him, I know all that and I'm not contending with your love, you have my father and I have your man, now if you don't mind, I'm busy, kindly leave my office" Kimberly said smiling triumphantly as Marianna stormed out of her office, she was going to enjoy every bit of this journey.

"so how is your marriage prep going?"

"well for now, everything is going well, we decided to complete the first phase of the project we're working on before we start making plans, I don't really mind a small wedding, but the Railings want something big"

"Are you happy with this arrangement?"

"You know that Luke asked me this question also, but what gives you guys the impression that I'm not happy?"

"because you're easy to read like a book, you're doing all these to get back at Marianna, but what if you fall in love with him in the process?"

"when we get to that bridge, we'll cross it, for now I'm gonna enjoy my life"

"If its about getting back at her, you can without getting married to Miguel, I just need few more results to show that her cancer was caused by those substances and she'll be behind bars for a long time"

"I took after my mother, about the trip?"

"Yes, I've almost finalized everything, its a three weeks trip, we use a week for the NGO, a week for touring and a week for resting"

The meeting with the Railing didn't really take long, Mrs. Railings wanted to be in charge of the wedding, something that Kimberly didn't mind as long as she could still freely choose what she wanted, she was already going through enough stress and didn't want to combine the stress of planning a wedding. after the meeting, she decided to go see her mother, it had been long she last visited, she really missed having her around, especially times like this where she would encourage her.

"Mom, I really missed you and I know dad misses you also, I don't know what's he's been up to lately, but I know that he truly loves you, I promise you Marianna and everyone behind her wont get away with what they did, I'll make sure of that, I'll be getting married to Miguel soon, although I wonder why you would agree to something like that without informing me, but I know that you have your reasons, people keep asking me if I'm happy, but I really am, I have to get that justice for you no matter what and this is my promise to you, until I bring all of them to book, I wont stop, I promise you this"

After she was done seeing her mother, she decided to do other things, today wasn't her remembrance day, but today was her birthday and she wanted everything to be about her.
her mother usually spent her birthday mostly in the orphanage or in the children's hospital, humanity was her major concern more than anything in this world. she was selfless and would go to any extent to see others happy even at her own detriment.
her smile was always golden and she was always there for her to lean on, she remembered even when she was receiving treatment in the hospital how her mother who was the sick one would give up her bed for her to sleep, how she would sing for her till she fell asleep even in her own pain. she knew mothers were special, but her mother was not just special, her mother was a hero and a superwoman and she was going to forever carry on with that legacy.
