Bonjourno, here's some basic information about the LGBTQ Community, or the people in it. You most likely already know these things, but here we go!
~The acronym LGBTQ+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning, but that is not every Identification. Some say the full acronym is LGBTQIAPD (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual/Polysexual, and Demisexual) but not even that is every identification. Though, those are the most well-known, and the shortened version of LGBTQ+ and LGBT is still accurate when referring to well-known identifications.
~I cannot stress this enough (and this applies for every sexual, romantic, and gendered identity):
~If you identify as the gender you were born with, you are what is called Cis-Gendered. You can still be a part of the LGBTQ+ community, if your sexuality is one that is not Heterosexual/Heteromantic. For example, I am a Panromantic/Graysexual, Cis-Gendered female.
~Some people say they are Queer, and while that could mean Homosexual, or anything else in the community, it's basically it's own thing together. It is commonly referred to someone who is attracted to the same gender, but that's not the intended definition.
~Being a part of the LGBTQ+ community is not a choice. Stop asking us when we 'became' a part of the community. You don't see us walking around, asking straight people when they became straight, do you?
~While there is a stereotype for what we look and act like, not all of us follow it. We aren't all flamboyant people who could help you with shopping and talk like "Ohhhh my god yass gurllll!"
We just walk around saying "OMIGOD YASSSSS BITCH YASSS SLAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"
I can confirm that, and so can all my fellow LGBTQ friends ^-^~Our community is not as nice as most people think. There can still be some infighting on sexuality and we do still posses some assholes in our group ^-^
~The rainbow represents the acceptance of all sexual/romantic/gender identifications, which is probably why it is the most used when referring to the community.
~In 1978, Gilbert Baker made the pride flag that was comprised of 8 colours that each had a different meaning. Pink was Sexuality, Red being Life, Orange as Healing, Yellow for Sunlight, Green representing Nature, Turquoise showing Magic and Art, Indigo/Blue meaning Serenity and Harmony, and Violet, Spirit.
But that's just a short, compiled list. Is there anything else that deserves to be on here?
Love you guys <33
