Meeting Daniel

Hey everyone! So this is chapter 2, where Autumn Blackwood will be meeting Daniel LaRusso. I don't know if they will have a love interest, but they will be really close friends for now. We might have to see what happens. That's all from me for this chapter, enjoy!

I sat on the couch and looked at my foster mom who was sitting on the couch with me. "Where's the swimming pool again?" I asked through boredom. Apparently, I didn't seem to notice walking past the empty, green stained pool area where there wasn't a drop of water to be seen.

"You didn't see it? Well...there isn't really a pool anymore. It looks like it got dried up quite some years ago" Sherry said, sighing. She was looking forward to spending hot days in the cooling swimming pool, but there was no chance of that happening.

I simply nodded as half an hour went by. Both me and my foster mom were still sitting on the couch when we heard a knock on the door. "I wonder who that could be...I better go answer it!" Sherry said, seeming excited that they have visitors already. My foster mom opened the door and smiled, talking to a boy. I thought that it would be my foster siblings arriving, but apparently not.

The boy seemed to have dark brown eyes and black hair swept across his forehead. His hair was held back by a bandanna on his forehead, tied at the back. Sherry had let the boy inside of the house as he looked at me instantly, smiling kindly. He was wearing a red hoodie with a black shirt on and black jeans. "Hey, you guys must be the new neighbors, welcome to the apartments. If you need help with anything at all, go to Mr Miyagi. He's great, he really knows how to fix anything" the boy said, still looking at me in a kind way. I nodded at this and he walked over to me.

"I'm Daniel...Daniel LaRusso. What's your name?" the boy said to me, looking into my gleaming emerald eyes. He seemed like a nice boy...maybe it wasn't impossible to make some friends in this place.

"I'm Autumn Blackwood. Nice to meet you Daniel" I said, smiling back to him.  I could tell that I would get along with the boy called Daniel quite nicely. He seemed to be a nice boy, around the age that I was. However, I was quite smaller than Daniel and I had to look up at him very slightly while talking to him. Sherry could see that they already had a strong friendship, and decided to sit back and smile. She didn't want to interrupt this moment, as she had always told me that I would make friends.

"Are there any boxes or suitcases that you need to bring up? I can do it for you if you'd like" Daniel said to Sherry, smiling. He seemed to be a helpful boy as well as a friendly one. Sherry got up from the couch and walked over to Daniel while replying to his question.

"Oh, how kind! There's two more suitcases and a big box in the car. Perhaps Autumn would like to help you with those?" Sherry said, nudging me towards him. I stumbled, and hid my stumble with a vast walk towards the door. I then gestured Daniel to come with me as we both stepped out of the apartment.

"So, when did you move here?" I asked, making small conversation with Daniel. We walked down the flights of stairs while Daniel replied to my question.

"I moved here only a few weeks ago. So, I was wondering, do you want to come over to the beach tonight? I'm planning on going at 7 o'clock so I could meet you at your apartment" Daniel said, clearly hoping that I would go with him. It would be nice if I already had a friend to talk to for once, to hang out with.

"Sure! It sounds cool, I'll meet you at 7 o'clock outside my apartment" I said, looking excited to be invited somewhere after only an hour of being in Reseda. Daniel and myself walked down the last flight of stairs and went to the car where the boot had two suitcases and a big box inside. Daniel picked up one of the suitcases  and the box while I picked up a heavy suitcase. It felt like my bones were going to snap, but I didn't care.

"Can you manage with the suitcase?" Daniel asked to me, smiling and hoping that it wouldn't offend me. He was lucky that it didn't. I looked strong enough to muster a suitcase, but that was probably it. I looked as skinny as a bone and as light as a feather. I just nodded and gripped the suitcase strongly, carrying it up the flights of stairs with Daniel carrying his load.

We eventually got back up to the top of the flights of stairs and went back to the apartment where Sherry was sat on the couch, waiting for us to return. Sherry got up once she saw us arrive back to the apartment and took the big box from Daniel to take some of the weight off of his shoulders.

"Thank you so much Daniel, that was exceptionally kind of you! You may leave the suitcase and the box in the living room, and I'll unpack later" Sherry said, hugging Daniel in a friendly manner. Daniel waved goodbye to me and told Sherry that it was no problem. Sherry sat back down once Daniel had left and winked at me.

I groaned and raised my eyebrows at my foster mother. I had only just met Daniel, and my foster mother was implying that we were already a 'thing'. I told Sherry about going to the beach that evening, and Sherry immediately said yes. She wanted me, her foster daughter, to have fun with my possible new friend, and possibly make even more friends.

Time soon ticked by and I was getting ready for the beach. It wasn't very challenging to get ready; we were not exactly rich. I decided to wear some black ripped jeans with a purple blouse and a jacket in case it got cold. I didn't take any swimming clothes because I knew that it would be too cold and late to go for a swim. I tied her hair in a half up and half down style and sat down in the living room, waiting for Daniel to arrive.

"Sherry, what time is it?" I asked to Sherry. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't too early. Sherry checked her watch and told me that it was quarter to 7. Not too early, but enough time to get a little bit of packing done while I waited around for Daniel. I went into my small room and opened up my suitcase full of essentials such as my clothes, bedding and other things.

I unpacked all of my essentials and put them in my wardrobe. I put the lilac-colored bedding onto the quilt of my bed and laid on it as soon as it was ready. The next thing I knew, I heard a loud knock on the front door. I got up as quick as lightening to go and answer the door promptly.
