Science Fiction / Alternative History - His life's work complete, Dr Marvin Ledbetter leaves the known universe and journeys backwards through time. But where would you go, what would you want to see? Dinosaurs? Elvis? Who killed JFK? What would happen if your time machine went wrong and started doing things that you thought were impossible?
Review: Okay, at first I was hesitant to read this, the only reason being that I wasn't really a big reader of sci-fi, but I wanted to broaden my horizons somewhat and deviate from my "stuck-to" genres. So when I saw this had been posted, I gave this a read, and I absolutely loved it.
As per the summary, it is basically this guy succeeds in building a time machine, but as to be expected, things happen that shouldn't technically be happening. This is only a short story, and I read it all in one go, without losing interest. It was amazing! For lack of a better word.
Flowed like a dream, and I would actually buy this if I saw it in a shop (this coming from a non reader of sci-fi is a compliment indeed). The ending is kind of heartbreaking, in a bittersweet way. If you've read it, you'll understand what I mean. Seriously, even if you don't read Sci-fi, check it out!
