Giselle's POV

Empty.

Hollow.

That's exactly how I feel. Why?

Because of Johnny.

He's gone.

Flash back

"Alright Johnny, we're gonna go to Ponyboy's house and go hang there for a while" I said as we finished sweeping the house.

He smiled brightly. "Really!? I have seen them for a while!" he said in excitement. I rolled my eyes and laughed. "You just saw them yesterday" I said.

He smiled and shrugged. "It's been a long day then" I chuckled and threw the dust into the trash can.

"Do you wanna go now or wait?" I asked. His smile seemed to grow more as I asked. "Let's go now" he said quickly. I chuckled and grabbed my keys before we walked out the house.

"Heya Johnny! Gis!" Soda said as we walked in. "Heya Sodapop" we both said at the same time. I watched as Johnny ran off into the house.

"It's been a while" Soda said as he hugged me. I smiled and hugged back. "I know, I have school to worry about and Johnny" I said with a smile.

He nodded as he stepped back. "Bit!! Give that back!" I heard someone yell as Two-Bit came running into the room with a jacket in his hands.

I quirked a brow as I looked at him. "Oh! Hey Gis" he said as he gave me a quick hug before running out the front door.

I smiled with a small laugh. "Damn it Bit!! Gimme my- oh hey Gis!" Dally said as he came into the room. I chuckled and hugged him.

"Heya Dal, how's the relationship?" I asked. He chuckled. "It's been well! But right now, Bit's being a pain in the-"

"JOHNNY!!" we all turned to see Two-Bit running back with a worries and scared expression. "What's wrong babe!?" Dally asked as Two-Bit stepped inside.

He looked around the room then at Dally. "Where's Johnny!?" he asked quickly. Johnny walked into the room with Ponyboy and froze when they saw everyone staring.

"Uhh, what's wrong?" Pony asked. Two-Bit looked down at his shoes before looking Johnny in the eyes. "Johnny, it's your parents. They're lookin' for ya" he said.

Johnny's eyes widened and his face turned pale. Darry walked into the room and quickly threw on his jacket. "They just pulled up to the yard" he said as he walked around us and outside.

We all follow and kept Johnny hidden behind us. Darry walked up to Johnny's parents as soon as they got out of their car.

"Where's my boy at Curtis?" his dad asked. Darry crossed his arms and put on a hard look. "He ain't ya boy if you keep gettin' drunk and beatin' him" Darry spat.

The man grinned. "What makes ya think I won't kick your ass too?" he asked as he cracked his knuckles. Darry stood his ground as he glared at the man.

The man finally took his eyes off of Darry and looked towards us. "That you boy?" he asked as he spotted Johnny.

"Boy bring that ass here!" the man yelled. He took a step forward but Darry moved and put his hand on the man's chest.

"Hey boy, better get your hand off me 'fore I hurt ya" he said as he looked up to Darry. Darry removed his hand but we all knew he did it because he was trying to make the man hit him first.

"Good, now gimme back my boy" he spat. "Darry glared at him. "Get the hell off my property" Darry said to the man.

"You think this is your property? Didn't daddy Curtis raise you better?!"

At that moment, everything froze. Everyone went silent and nothing was heard.

That is, until the sound of bones on flesh was heard. We all looked to see the man on the ground holding his nose that was now bleeding.

"Aggh!" he yelled as he tried to stop the blood from flowing. "M-M-Mary! Call the cops!"

The woman quickly ran to the neighbor's house and knocked on the door. The man stood up and wipped the blood from his nose.

"You wanna be beatin' on people now don't ya?" he asked. Before we knew it, he threw a blow to Darry's jaw and dropped him within seconds. Darry quickly got up but the man got on top of him and began throwing blow after blow.

Dally was the first to throw the man off and began hitting him. He stopped when he heard the sirens.

Mary came out from the neighbor's house and stood next to her husband. The cops walked up to the house and began asking questions.

"What happened here Mr. Cade?" he asked. "Them kids took my boy!" he yelled as he pointed at us. "Alright Arnold, I'll talk to them" he said.

"No! I want my boy back! He's been missin' for around two months!" he spat. The officer sighed and looked at us.

"I'm sorry kids, but you have to let Arnold and Mary have their boy back. They do have the right" he said.

"So does Gis!" Dally yelled as he pointed at me. The officer quirked a brow and I took out the form that said I have a right to have Johnny.

The officer shook his head. "I'm sorry ma'am, we have to give him back or we press charges on all of you" he said.

"You can't do that!!" Dally yelled. "He's just a kid! He has to live with those monsters!" he said while tears ran down his face.

"Dally" we all turned to look at Johnny. He had on a faint smile. "It's alright. I'll go" he said in a small voice.

"Johnny!! Johnny no!!" Dally yelled after him as he walked over to his parents. "JOHNNY!!!" he sobbed as Johnny got into the back of the car and they drove off.

We all sat around the porch, looking off into the distance. Wondering if we'll ever see Johnny again.

Maybe we should've focused on the little things...
