Chapter 2

Again I woke with no sleep what so ever. My heart pounded against my rib cage because I had a dream where I was drowning in water. As I grasped my chest for air and brought big gulps of air into my mouth, my thoughts rushed to Dakota and Melanie instantly.

"Dakota!" I shouted still trying to get my breathing back on track.

He ended up running at my door, "What happened?!" he was in a panic.

"Oh thank God your okay. Is Mel fine?" I asked.

"Yeah, I checked on her earlier. Why did you yell for me?" he raised his weirdly on fleek eyebrow and stood in the door way.

"Just wanted to make sure. I won't do it again, unless I really need you." I stated.

He nodded and went back to his room. I was wide awake and those stupid birds weren't singing. Thank you God. My heart rate and breathing went back to normal. Today, I wore the jeans I had on yesterday because why can't I? And a fresh new shirt from my closet. I went to the bathroom, brushed out my knotted blonde hair and brushed my teeth until they were sparkling.

I rounded the corner and slide down the stair case railing, landing perfectly on my feet. Dakota was baking pop tarts in the toaster for him and Melanie, while I grabbed an apple. I sat down, grabbed a book from my bag and started to read.

I was currently reading "Echo", I bit into my apple and continued from the spot I left on. Soon enough it was time for school. I got Melanie in the car, watched as Dakota backed out and left, and got into the driver's seat. I dropped Melanie off and made it to the high school. I went to my locker and found Joey and Silvia kissing on top of it. When did they become a thing? I cleared my throat.

"Yo bros~!" I said and they pulled away.

"Oh, hey Monica." Silvia smiled.

"Sup." Joey nodded in acknowledgement.

"Yeah, my locker." I pointed out.

"Oh sorry." they both moved out of the way.

I smiled and put in my combination. I switched the books that I didn't need for the ones I did. 

"Hey Monica, we are all going to a party tonight. Wanna come?" Silvia asked hopefully.

"I don't know, let me check with my dad and brother." she nodded knowing that I didn't say no.

I grabbed my phone and check my social media. That consisted of Instagram, Snap chat, and Twitter. I scrolled through my feed on Instagram, and found that everyone is starting a streaks thing on the Instagram story. They have Snap chat for a reason, I still wonder why Instagram added a story. I did my daily streaks for today with Bianca. We have a 75 day streak on Snap chat.

I scrolled through twitter with my thumb, checking the tweets. And went back to Snap chat to check the streaks that Bianca sent me. I looked at the  Snap chat stories and found out that almost everyone in the school was going to Missy Grand's party. Violet must have made her have a party. That poor thing.

The first period bell rang in everyone's ears, signaling that we had to go to class. I went to P.E. We played softball again. I was catcher this time. I hit a few good balls and made two home runs. Got through my advanced classes and went to lunch.

"Bianca, get a grip. Will ya'?" Garret scoffed.  

I looked over at Bianca, who was writing things down on a piece of paper.

"No, I need to get this down." she argued.

"All I did was ask you to the dance." Garret what?!

"You did?" I grinned.
