As the music played, I smiled and went to the dance floor. I swayed my hips and grinned as I heard my favorite song come on. Mercy by: Shawn Mendes. I mouthed the words and danced inspirationally. As I was thrashing with inspiration, I bumped into a chest. Head first, I might add. I fell on the ground and hit my butt.

"Ow! My face!" I whined.

"Didn't think you would be falling for me already." A husky, rich and velvety voice came.

I opened my eyes. I saw feet and followed the feet up to a face. Deep brown eyes searched my soul and dark brown hair flipped as a hand ran through them. I hadn't realized I was staring, much less at his face.

"Like what you see, Lee?" He smirked with a wink.

"I'm sorry, who are you and no." I glared and frowned.

He gaped, "You don't know who I am?"

"Are you deaf? I just asked who you are?!" his gape turned into a smirk.

"All the more fun. I know more then you think, princess." His eyes held many levels of mischief.

"So, you gonna tell me, or should I walk away now?" I glanced at the snack table, hoping he would catch on.

"Sassy! I like it." his smirk widened, "Now princess, my name is Clayton, Clayton Smith."

"Don't call me princess. I am not a damsel in distress like these other girls." I stated, glared and got up.

"Should I call you babe then?" he questioned.

"That's cringey. Don't ever call me that. Call me Monica." I cringed.

"Princess it is!" He choose.

"I am leaving now. Thanks for nothing!" I waved and walked away.

That was weird. I thought. That guy had no right to call me names! I don't think I know a Clayton Smith? Do I? I questioned myself. I shook my head, I really shouldn't be thinking about him. I literally just met him. Finishing my walk to the snack table, I grabbed a small bag of Cheeto's and a water bottle from the cooler. Practically chugging the water down, I eat some Cheeto's. The cheesy outside tasted delicious when mixed with the actual chip on the inside. I wasn't looking at anything in particular, until I saw Carter in front of me.

"Yo bro." I greeted, munching on the chips.

"Hey. You bored?" Carter leaned on the table for support.

"Eh. A little. You?" I cocked an eyebrow upward.

"Yeah, Genie said she already had a date to the dance." Aw, poor guy.

"Aw, I'm sorry man. But, their are other fish in the big dumb sea we call school." I probably didn't help.

"Yeah, you're right." He gave me a soft smile, "Would you like to accompany me to the dance?" I was dumbfounded.

Did he just ask me, of all people, to the dance? What?! I can't go with him! He's just a friend! Oh! I am in some real shit now!

"Oh, um...I...I don't think that will work. You see I - we are just friends and I don't want to ruin that." I explained.

"Oh, okay. I get it." He just walked away.

Oh how horrible I feel right now! I am so freaking nice! I just turned my friend down!

"Wow, that was hard on the guy." The same velvety voice from earlier commented.

I turned around, "You...you saw that?" I blushed a light pink shade. Why am I blushing?
